Newfound Concern

It was currently night and a certain ebony hedgehog was looking for a certain azure hedgehog. The reason being he had some questions and as much as Shadow dislikes Sonic even if he wouln't admit it to anyone he does consider Sonic a good rival and friend. Now finding Sonic was no easy matter unless you either put a tracker on him, had chillidogs, or you were Amy Rose. Shadow however had his own way to find him which was tracking his chaos signature cause when he runs he leaves a trail of chaos energy that beings who were skilled with chaos energy can track.

 The trail was leading to a cliff with an oak tree a bit far from the city so it has a beautiful view of the city and as Shadow was walking up the hill he found the hedgehog he was looking for. "Hey Shads what are you doing here?" Sonic asked which surprised Shadow as he thought that Sonic hadn't seen him and also annoyed him since he called him by a nickname however secretly he enjoyed the nickname "Believe it or not I came here looking for you" which did surprise Sonic since Shadow doesn't do things like that without a reason "What's the occasion" Sonic said in a joking voice "I have questions that I need to ask you" Shadow replied in his monotone voice "Alright well come over here and fire away" Sonic then gestured for him to come sit with him near the edge of the cliff where the view was spectacular then Shadow asked his first question "Do you have any family?" this questioned confused Sonic "What do you mean? Tails is my family" he said in a matter of fact voice "I meant blood related" Shadow clarifyed however when Shadow looked at sonic he did not expect to see Sonic look horrified and sad which is a first for Shadow since he always saw Sonic with a smile or happy face "I...next question" Sonic said coldly which shocked Shadow since he had never heard nor seen Sonic act like this.

"Faker did you have a family?" Shadow asked a bit more serious "Next question" Sonic said more coldly and intimidating Shadow wanted to know why he was acting like this so he pushed it further "Faker answer the question" this made Sonic angry "FINE YOU WANT TO KNOW? THEY WERE EITHER ROBOTISICED OR KILLED!" Sonic yelled and as he yelled his fur turned a darker shade of blue and flicked between his normal color and darker blue, which actually made Shadow flinch with how angry and..sad he sounded plus with how his fur was flickering"Faker..I-im sory I didn't mean to-" "Its fine" Sonic cut Shadow off and told him. Shadow knew it wasn't fine but didn't want to push it further so he asked his next question "Is there any specific reason you don't like G.U.N or the government?" Shadow didn't particularly like them himself due to the whole Space Colony Ark thing and Maria however he couldn't figure out a reason for Sonic to dislike them "Its...sorta complicated and I rather not get into it" Sonic said in the calmest voice he could muster as he tried to surpress memories and his anger his fur by now had returned to thier usual color. 

"Faker...you once told me I could tell you anything and you would be there for me and..I know you've told our other friends the same thing but...what about you?" Shadow asked in a caring and gentle voice that took Sonic off gaurd but soon answered "Don't worry about me im fine" he said in his usual cheerfull voice and with his signature smile that Shadow now realized was fake and that him and Sonic might be more similiar then he thought "Fak-Sonic I want you to know that if you need to talk you can talk to me about anything" this both shocked and surprised Sonic as not only had Shadow said his real name he also showed more emotion than he ever has seen Shadow show. "I....its fine you don't need to do that, thanks for the offer though" Sonic once again replied in his usual voice "Sonic-" Shadow was about to say more but Sonic cut him off "Well would you look at the time sorry Shads but I need to go" and before Shadow could do or say anything Sonic was already gone.
