Chapter 2 | A Troublesome Start To A Rememberable Day

Kim Ah Ra's POV

"Ah Ra? Wake up, quick! We're late." Eun Seol said in a hurry.

"What..? What time is it?" I asked with one eye open barely getting up from my sleeping position.

"Its 2:30 in the afternoon." She replied.

"What, really? Let's wash up quickly." I said as we both quickly jumped out of the bed with no sign of sleepiness in our eyes anymore and rushed to the bathroom.

It was 3:10 by the time we freshened up and changed in to fresh clothes. So we hurried to the kitchen to grab a granola bar or drink milk.

Eun Hyuk Oppa was already there with his back facing us. He was on a call, talking to somebody or shall I put it like: arguing with somebody. It looked it was a serious matter.

As we walked past him to the refrigerator, I saw a puzzled look on his face. It was as if he was annoyed but confused at the same time. But he still managed to give us a small smile.

While he was still on call, Eun Seol and I drank milk as we were oh so naturally out of granola. We agreed to eat something later on.

Eun Seol signaled Oppa that we're leaving and he mouthed us something which was rather hard to understand. So, we headed straight out of the kitchen to the main door.

As soon as the butler opened the main door for us, Eun Hyuk Oppa called us and we turned our backs and saw that he was already walking towards us.

"Good morning, girls." He greeted.
"Morning, big brother." Replied Eun Seol.
"Good morning, Oppa." I added.

"Girls. A slight problem has occurred." He cleared his throat then continued: "here's the thing. Ugh.." his voice trailed off as if he was hesitating to speak. Before he could say anything further, Eun Seol cut him. "Hurry up, Oppa. We don't have time, we're already too late. Please finish up quickly."

He slightly scratched the back of his head, let out a sigh then said: "The event decorator, he backed off. I called him and asked what's wrong. He said that he doesn't have tim-"

"What?" I blurted out. Both Eun Seol and mine jaw dropped open and we looked at Eun Hyuk Oppa in disbelief. I know what this day means to Eun Seol. She has been planning this birthday for like forever.

"But, girls listen there's no need to panic. I have everything sorted out. I hired another event decorator and he's on his way."

"No, but.. why did the one I hired back off? It was final he'd come and I even talked to him yesterday and he told me that I needn't worry." Said Eun Seol anxiously.

"Yeah, but it just happened that way somehow. The other one coming now, he's not well known but I heard he's rising. I saw his work on social media and it's exceptional. Also, I'll need one of you to assist me." He replied looking at both of us.

"I'll stay." I said immediately.

And, of course Eun Seol didn't agree for me to stay alone. But still Oppa and I both somehow hardly managed to sent Eun Seol away to prepare for tonight.

35 minutes later

It took rather a while for the event decorator and his team to arrive.
