The jet settles down in Sokovia, the girl opening her eyes from where she was leaning back in her seat. The others shift as they notice they landed. Steve stands and walks near Tony, getting ready to lay out the plan.
"Ultron knows we're coming," Steve says, causing the girl to open her eyes and turn her head to him. "Odds are we'll be riding into heavy fire. And that's what we signed up for. But the people of Sokovia, they didn't." Tal's eyes shift to the twins across from her. "So our priority is getting them out. All they want is to live their lives in peace. And that's not gonna happen today. But we can do our best to protect them. And we can get the job done. We find out what Ultron's been building, we find Romanoff, and we clear the field. Keep the fight between us." Steve sighs and looks to the ground. "Ultron thinks we're monsters. That we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right."
Talia nods at Steve, listening as he goes over the plan.
Bruce and Thor will get Natasha, the twins will rally the people into leaving the city. And the rest will move into position.
Steve and Talia make their way through traffic, dodging cars but making sure they know they need to leave. The girl guides them and tried to help with traffic, but there's only so much she can do to help.
Her head snaps to the side as a whoosh through the air is heard, and she sees those bots flying and coming from the ground.
She watches through wide eyes as several bots come over the wall of the bridge. Her hands go flying as she sends robots over the edge, but they keep coming. She hears Steve yelling at people to get off, and Wanda trying to help.
Tal's main goal is to just get the people out of the way and keep the robots from hurting anyone.
Wanda creates shields as the bots fire at her, and Talia rips them apart. The two work together, Wanda protecting the people, while Tal destroys them. It's as easy as snapping a finger, just dismantling them.
But the bots keep coming
A shriek leaves her mouth as the ground suddenly shakes and she falls on her knees, looking around. Cracks form through the concrete as the shaking continues.
Talia curses as the ground rumbles and part of it lifts up into the air. She gapes as one side of the bridge crumbles into ashes as they start to lift into the sky. Momentarily frozen, Talia just stares with a wide mouth, trying to make sense of what she's seeing.
"What the hell?" She cries out as buildings topple over.
She can barely hear what Ultron says through his bots, she had never seen anything like this. They were literally on a floating island.
Talia, get the people off the island and on to the stable ground. Tony comes through her comms.
"On it."
Cap you got incoming.
Incoming already came in. Steve says as Talia pushes off into the air, scanning the ground for civilians.
She spots a woman running towards the edge and dives for her, sweeping her up in her arms.
The lady screams as she takes in what's happening.
"I'm going to put you down on the stable land!" She yells over the winds and the air flying past them as she lands in a crowd of people.
"Thank you!" The lady calls out as Talia takes off again, looking for the next person.
Being able to control the air has it's perks, she can make people lighter than they actually are, meaning she can actually take them with her when she flies.
"Do you want me to help with the bots?" She asks through the link.
No, get the people off the streets and out of buildings. Steve says.
"How can I get them out of buildings if I can't see them?" She mumbles.
Tal, get your butt over to the school.
"Why?"
Just do it. She scowls at Tony even though he can't see her, but changes course towards the school near the center of town.
She lands on the roof, scanning for Tony. But she jumps back with a hand on her chest as Iron Man lands right behind her.
"What?"
"Take this," His helmet reveals his face as he hands her some sort of elastic. "Put it around your head, you need to be anonymous."
She cocks her head to the side, but slips it over her head, the band crossing over her forhead and squeezing her skull.
"Friday, activate Mask Test 6." Tony says.
Talia gasps as the band expands and she feels it sliding over her face, leaving holes for her eyes. The squeezing sensation goes away.
"It's to keep your identity hidden, and it also has some perks. You can talk to Friday if you need to, but it's a prototype."
"Um, thanks." She says right as he takes off into the air.
Talia blinks and looks around, a blue hue over everything in her vision.
Hello, Talia. How can I be of assistance? Friday's voice comes from her ear.
"Um..." The girl takes off into the air and begins looking for more people to get off the island. "What can this mask do? How can it help me now?"
I can activate laser vision, locate people, give directions—
"Okay stop, here's what we're gonna do; you're going to give me directions to the civilians still on the island and I'm gonna get them off."
Yes, maam. Make a right above the warehouse.
Talia works with a system, Friday telling her where trapped civilians are and her flying them down to land. In a way she gets annoyed at how she's missing all the main fighting, but she knows that she's one of the only people who can go airborne to help the people.
But as the city gets higher and higher, she can only go back and forth so many times. She briefly sees Thor flying as he tries to save those falling from the sky, while the girl tries to get everyone else off the island.
She tunes out Tony and Steve in her ear talking about blowing the city up. It would be a good plan, if they could get the citizens off.
But the girl freezes as Fury's voice comes over the comms.
Glad you like the view, Romanoff. The girl takes a breather as she prepares herself for what he's going to say.
She hovers in the air, overlooking the rising landscape.
It's about to get better.
"Friday, lead me to the team." Talia mutters.
She pushes herself to the limit, making herself fly faster than ever to land next to Steve and Natasha. Watching a large hovercraft of some kind come into view.
Nice right? Fury's voice rings in her ears. Pulled her out of mothballs with a couple of old friends. She's dusty, but she'll do.
Talia admires the large ship that rises and hovers in the air.
Fury, you son of a bitch. Cap says from next to her.
Ooh! You kiss your mother with that mouth?
Altitude is 18,000 and climbing. Maria's voice comes in.
Another man's voice comes in and Talia's eyes widen as hatches in the side of the craft open and smaller ships fly out, heading towards land.
"This is SHIELD?" Pietro asks.
"This is what SHIELD is supposed to be." Steve speaks up.
"This is not so bad." The Sokovian mutters.
"Let's load them up." Steve sends a glance at each of them before running off.
Talia takes off and searches for more civilians to get back to the ground.
