'CAN YOU HEAR THE DRUMS FERNANDO? I remember, long ago, another starry night like this. I'm the firelight, Fernando. You were humming to yourself and softly strumming your guitar. I could hear the distant drums and sound of bugle calls were coming from afar.'
"Romeo! What the hell?!" Nancy screamed, annoyed when she spots her brother walking down the side of the street. Her headphones were on his head with her Walkman attached to his hip as he twirls around, humming to himself. Her head was stuck out the window of Steve's car, looking at her brother in exasperation. "Romeo!"
'They were closer now, Fernando. Every hour, every minute seemed to last eternally. I was so afraid, Fernando. We were young and full of life and none of us prepared to die. And I'm not ashamed to say the roar of guns and canons almost made me cry.'
"I think he's officially lost it." Steve cringes, slightly concerned as Nancy continues to yell to get her brothers attention as they slowly drive beside him. Though it seemed to be of no use, since Romeo Wheeler seemed to be completely lost in his own little world.
"Bump him."
"Excuse me?"
Nancy looked at him, her eye slightly twitching. "You heard me. Bump him."
Steve blinked, "With what?"
"The car."
"No! I'm not gonna hit him!"
"I said bump! Not hit. There's a difference."
"I'm just gonna say that that's a horrible plan." Steve said, letting out a disbelieving laugh. "Let's just think rationally here and do something less murderous." With that, Steve sped up a bit, pulling over to the side of the road a little ahead of Romeo's path. "We will just get out and slap him to get his attention."
Nancy stared at him. "How is that less murderous?!"
"Hitting him with a moving vehicle isn't involved!"
"We're still hitting him!"
"...lightly."
'There was something in the air tonight. The stars were bright, Fernando. They were shining there for you and me. For liberty, Fernando. Though we never thought that we could lose, there's not regret. If I had to do the same again, I would, my friend, Fernando. If I had to do the same again, I would my friend—'
"Ow!" Romeo was suddenly brought back into reality by a hard object that was suddenly in his path. Taking off his headphones, he looks up to see Steve and Nancy staring at him from inside the car. Steve awkwardly waved while Nancy motioned for him to get in the car with a scowl on her face.
