I went to bed with only one thing on my mind - Gaga. I was scared I'd let her down, I had no clue what to expect the next day. Where could we go without being noticed? Sleep felt like forever.
The next morning my alarm went off at 8. I'd set it early so I could dress myself up a bit, but Gaga always went on about being yourself. I shrugged on a baggy shirt and skirt, and hastily brushed through my hair. The next hour was spent meticulously trying to recreate her famous bow hairdo. Unfortunately being given the gift of frizz it was more difficult than I'd expected. My phone began to ring. I picked it up. "Indie! It's you! It's Gaga darling. Just checking to make sure you're still coming?"
"Of course Stef. Can I call you Stef?"
"If you must. But I prefer Gaga. Carry on!"
"Where did you say to meet you?"
"Outside Starbucks darling. You may not recognise me but I'll be the one in shades and a floppy black hat. Okay?"
"Sure Gaga. Love you!"
"Paws up darling!"
"All hail Mother Monster!"
"Love you Little Monster. Bye darling!" She hung up and I made my way back over to the dressing table. I swiped my lashes with mascara and dabbed on some red lipstick. I perfumed my neck and grabbed my bag, stuffed in purse, keys and wallet and went downstairs. "Mom, I'm going out now! Bye!"
"Bye honey! Have a good time."Town was rammed. It took me a little while longer than I had expected to get to Starbucks, but when I got there I recognised Gaga immediately. "Mary! It's you!"
"Who else would it be darling?" Gaga grinned showing a perfect set of pearly white teeth. Her blonde hair was flowing in waves down her front and her foundation was flawless. "Mary you look gorgeous! How do you do it?"
"You can thank Tara for that. She's my makeup artist at the Haus. We'll probably go there later darling."
"Really?! The Haus!"
"Don't sound so shocked Indie. Of course!" We walked into Starbucks and Gaga ordered two cappuccinos, takeout of course to minimise publicity. We sat outside and sipped hot coffee. "So, how are you darling?"
"Good thank you. How about you?"
"I've been sooo busy darling. We had a few meetings at the Haus and I had to meet with the gorgeous Donatella to design a few things for ArtRAVE. I went to Taylor's for dinner, which is rare at the moment as I have no time!"
"You poor thing! This coffee must been even more heavenly."
"I think you're right darling. We should get shopping!"As we walked into TOPSHOP, I recognised Paige and Saffy stood looking at a rack of short denim skirts. Paige was Saffy's friend but Saffy was incredibly controlling. Poor Paige didn't realise how much of a bitch Saffy was and absolutely worshipped her. Saffy twisted her bleached locks round a manicured finger, then turned round and spotted me. She dragged Paige over to where Gaga and I were stood. I held a day dress up to myself and looked in the mirror. "You're much too fat to wear that sweetie! You'll never fit. It doesn't suit you one bit!" Saffy smiled sweetly at me, her lipglossed lips shining in the artificial lights. Gaga walked over to where she was stood. "Excuse me, but you dare insult Indie like that! Indie is beautiful on the inside and out, and you are just hopelessly spiteful. I recommend you just walk away miss!"
"Are you Lady Gaga?"
"Yes I am, and that doesn't make it any different. You were horrible to Indie. Leave us alone." Saffy walked off with a shocked look on her face. "That'll sort her out darling. And by the way, you should sooo buy that dress."
