"How come wedding arrangements so soon? Are you out of your mind Stef?!" I goggled at Gaga who was sat at the kitchen table, leafing through a catalogue of bouquets.
"Well, I may as well get stuff out of the way. And then when it gets closer to the time I'll have less to worry about!" I rolled my eyes. Typical Gaga to be so well prepared. Taylor walked over and flicked the switch on the coffee machine.
"Hey Indie. Coffee?" He gave me a toothy smile.
"Sure. You know how I like it, extra cream and two sugars." I batted my eyelashes. Gaga snickered. "Found anything you like yet?" I peered over her shoulder to inspect the catalogue.
"Well, you know how much I like white roses?"
"Carry on..." Taylor brought three cups of coffee over.
"I thought I'd mix them with some lavender! How pretty would that be?!" She didn't even know what dress she was wearing yet."Mom! I'm home!" It had been so long since I'd visited home. I'd even spent my birthday away from her, and to be honest, I just missed her like hell.
"Indie? Is that you?" My mom walked in with a massive smile on her face. "Sweetie! I can't believe you're home! I've missed you so much." She enveloped me in a Chanel scented hug, suffocating me in expensive perfume and cream cashmere. My mom had never been anyone to scrimp on luxury.
"Yeah. I thought I'd spend Thanksgiving at home and give Stef some space with her fiancé." We giggled like school girls.
"I've missed your immaturity." My mom laughed.
"Yeah, and I've missed you."
"Enough reminiscing already, we have a family Thanksgiving to prepare! I've got a surprise for you in the living room...""Dad?" I stared at my father who was sat, legs crossed at the ankles, on the couch, reading the New Yorker. "What the hell's going on? Mom, since when did Dad visit?" I was shocked.
"Indie! Sweetie! Did your mom not tell you? We got back together!" My dad smiled like it was the best thing in the world. He stood up and put an arm round Mom's waist. All I did was cry and run upstairs.I slipped my phone out of my pocket, turned on speed dial. "Indie? Are you okay?" Gaga's reassuring voice always made me feel better when I was in an awkward situation.
"Mom got back t-t-together with Dad." I sniffled. "I d-d-don't know what to do. It's so strange. They've been divorced for like, forever." I burst into tears again.
"Indie, I can't leave you like this. I'm leaving Tella's right now and I'm picking you up. Mommy Monster can always help."
"Thank you so much Gaga. I don't know what I'd do without you..."
