When I arrive at the park, it is pretty isolated, with very few people walking around. Children are playing tag near the lake and if you pay close attention, you can listen to the ducks squawking and birds singing.
A light breeze shakes the trees, making them sway in synchrony. I sigh before pacing around a bench, nervous about meeting Ella. Should I have bought flowers? Maybe chocolates? Does she even like chocolates?!
I glance at the time on my Apple Watch and grimace as it's already 5:29 pm. My eyes wander around trying to make out any girl remotely similar to Ella, but I can't find her much to my dismay.
I run my fingers through my hair, fixing its disheveled state. Just as the clock strikes 5:30, the large metal gates screech open once more and my eyes involuntarily snap towards the sound.
