Tranquil stepped onto the road through Beaburn Town, instantly being hit with a warmth that she hadn't felt in ages. The numbness in her fingers and feet instantly disappeared from the heated road, and she breathed a sigh of relief. The warmth immediately made her feel much more secure than in the wild, and she started looking around for the Pokemon Centre.

Slodge bounced along the path, spotting the Pokemon Centre and crying out for Tranquil's attention. She looked down and followed it as it bounced cheerfully along the path. They eventually arrived at the once-distant Pokemon Centre and entered inside, the automatic doors opening up as soon as she took a step near the Centre.

She walked inside, walking calmly up to the desk and asking Nurse Joy at the desk,

"Hello, can you heal up Icstra, please. It got injured protecting me from a wild Pokemon."

"Of course. I'll take a look at Icstra and tell you when it is healed."

Tranquil felt a wave of relief wash over her as Nurse Joy went into the back to heal up Icstra. Then, Tranquil heard from behind her a voice call to her,

"So, another one of your Pokemon got injured trying to protect you. Should've expected that, if I'm honest."

Tranquil's mood immediately went sour, as she turned around and found the same person who she had met in her encounter with a Raticate. The girl stood smiling mockingly, then suddenly dropped the cocky smile and asked,

"But, actually, is Icstra going to be okay?"

"Why would you want to know?", Tranquil fired back, mirroring the tone of the other girl's snarky comment, "You wanna make fun of how weak my Pokemon is, like you did before?"

An expression of brief guilt appeared on the girl's face, but then she reassured herself and went back to a face of neutrality. She pulled out a Pokeball with the same cocky smile and said,

"Well, since you're waiting for your Pokemon to heal, we'll have that match that you were os confident that you could win."

"You're on."

"Then, lets get started."

Both trainers stood at the opposite ends of the field, with Slodge standing by Tranquil's side while the fire starter stood by the brown-haired girl's side. Tranquil grabbed her Pokedex and scanned the Pokemon, hoping to find anything that could be used against it.

Honoguma, The Fire Rodent Pokemon. #4

Type: Fire.

This is a popular choice for beginning battlers for its furious loyalty and commitment to battling. It also is said to be a great hugger, warming up its trainer if they are cold.

"Well, I suppose that's how she got through the snow then.", Tranquil thought, putting the Pokedex away and preparing for battle. the other girl just waited patiently, considering shouting towards Tranquil that it wouldn't help to find anything in the Pokedex, but managed to restrain herself. Instead, she just shouted,

"Well, you take the first move then."

"Fine by me! Slodge, use Water Gun!"

Slodge bounced from Tranquil's side and immediately sprayed water at Honoguma. But, it didn't appear that the other girl was even concerned in the slightest.

"Just run out the way, and close the distance between you and Slodge!"

Honoguma suddenly pounced lower to the ground and dashed around with such speed that the water gun had no shot at hitting its target. It was impressive how well it was closing the gap. Even Tranquil was impressed by it, but she'd be caught dead before she admitted that to her. Instead, as Honoguma got closer and closer, Tranquil yelled out,
