Chapter 17

ROSALINE

A knock on the door woke me up from my nap. I opened my eyes and a man walked in, "Don Alessandro asked me to pick you" the man said.

I was irritated, but nonetheless, I rinsed my face and adjusted my clothes, wearing a normal footwear instead. I walked behind the man till we got to the car and he opened it for me, to get in, as he drove away.

The car stopped in front of a fancy restaurant and I regretted coming here looking so simple.

I got out of the car, earning myself glances. A lady approached me and directed me to where Alessandro sat. He looked stressed, but still handsome, wearing an expensive outfit, and his glasses sitting properly on his nose.

He stood up as I sat down,before sitting back down.

"Hi" he spoke, and I gave him a tight lipped smile

"You came very early" I replied sarcastically, taking in my environment. There were just very few people around

"I'm very sorry for keeping you waiting" he said, sounding apologetic

"Hmm" I didn't know what to say. I looked so odd sitting in front of him, in this restaurant. The other ladies around looked so beautiful with their makeup and hair done perfectly

"You look so beautiful" he said and I just nodded. This was very awkward to me. I was still mad at him, but I wasn't going to show it

"Are you still mad at me?" He asked , and I raised my head to look at him properly. He looked tired

Does he not want to be here?

"No" I lied, of course I was mad at him, we were supposed to go out on a date by 10am and now it's already dark.

Stupid me thinking I really meant something to him

Our food arrived, and we ate in silence

"You look tired" I spoke, wiping my lips

"Oh, it's nothing" he said

It's definitely me. He doesn't want to be here with me

"Can we leave?" I asked, and his face held this sad expression before he nodded

He drove up to his apartment first, and got down to open my side of the car, stretching out his hands for me to take. I held it and he pulled me towards himself, trapping me in between himself and the car

"You look so beautiful tonight" he whispered, his breath fanning my face

"Thank you" I said, looking anywhere but his face

He swept my hair behind my ear, and held my face to look at his, before bringing his face closer. His thumb caressed my cheeks

"I'm so sorry for coming this late, and I know it made you angry. You waited for me, but I- I stood you up. I don't want to make up excuses, but I swear something happened that made me this late. I'm sorry and I promise, it won't happen next time" he was still caressing my cheeks

Next time?, Did he just say there will be a next time?!!!

I felt so warm being close to him.

His other hand held me by my waist, pulling me closer to him as he hugged me, I placed my hands around his neck, as he leaned his face into my neck. We stayed in this Post for a while before he moved back and kissed me on my cheeks

"Good night" he said, as he walked away. Immediately he left me, the night breeze embraced me, causing me to shiver

He could have at least kissed me on my lips. Pfft

I entered into another car that drove me to my hostel. I was already missing him, but at least I would see him tomorrow

I entered my room, and the girls were not inside, I glanced at the wall clock before lying on my bed. It was 10:00pm and I felt so tired. I yawned before allowing the sleep to take me

I'm really sorry from not updating this book on a while, I didn't like the direction the book was taking. It was like I had lost the main purpose why I started the book, plus academics too was choking 😩😩.
