ROSALINE

Resuming work after few days felt new. I walked into Pulack greeting the girls and started bringing out the alcohols

I swayed my hips to where the men sat and filled their glasses with the alcohol. They kept on talking about a Mr. Williams

‘’They found his body last night and would be burying him today’’, a man I recognized to be Giovanni spoke, then downed the content in the glass cup. He looked at me signaling to refill his glass

I walked towards him, standing in between him and Don Alessandro, I poured him alcohol.

I had already made up my mind not to have anything to do with the Don that will trigger him to put a gun to my head. I remember how he pulled a gun on me and threatened me, I shuddered

As I was walking away, ‘’hey’’, Alessandro called out, and I looked back, he cleared his throat and raised his cup to me. As I was filling his cup, some other girls brought snacks, cocaine and cigars, there was some drug like substance on a tray too.

As the girls moved closer, the men began to laugh as they helped themselves, most of the girls already on the men’s laps, seducing and grinding their hips on them as the men touched them.

By now, the whole area smelled of cigarette and alcohol even with the air conditioner fixed at an appropriate degree

‘’You’’ I looked up to see Stefano calling, ‘’why are all alone, come here’’, he signaling me to come over. Once I got to him, he held me by the waist and pulled me closer to him. ‘’What a nice mark you have here’’ he said, touching the one stretch mark I had on my stomach, then kissed it, as I shut my eyes.

Opening my eyes, I looked at the other men and they seemed to be enjoying themselves, then my eyes landed on Alessandro and our eyes met. He kept on staring at me, as another lady straddled him, and kept on grinding on him.

He had this look I could not understand, and looked like he was angry or was the look of disgust?

Stefano puled me down, so that we were face to face and held my chin softly, then he glanced at his brother, before pulling my closer to his, then he kissed me.

A sound of a glass shattering pulled me back up as I looked to where the sound came from, Alessandro had just broken a glass cup with his fist, my eyes widened.

‘’Get off me’’ he told the lady on his laps as she immediately stood up. I looked at the other men and they all had this confused look on their faces. Alessandro stood up, looked at me then at Stefano, then I saw him lick his inner cheek as he released fist as blood sipped out of his palm.

‘’Come with me’’ he said, looking at me, ‘’she is not going anywhere’’ Stefano said, as he stood up, holding my hands. I saw Alessandro look to our hands and back at his brother

‘’Stefano’’ Marco, one of the men who hardly talked spoke and everyone looked towards him.

‘’Fine, go’’ Stefano said, removing his hands from mine, ‘’and if he ends up killing you, just know I tried to save you’’ he whispered in my ears before walking out

‘’Come with me’’ Alessandro said again, and I followed him.

We got to where he parked his car before he looked at me, then he sighed. He opened his car door, then paused before slamming  it shut, I jumped back

He looked back at me, ‘’Rosaline’’ he called, before taking a sharp breath

He looked angry. ‘’You really are a prostitute’’ he spat, ‘’you kiss me, then you kiss my brother’’ he breathe in, ‘’who will you kiss next? My father?’’ he asked

‘’If it is to keep me alive, the yes’’ I tell him, ‘’I will kiss anybody’’ I continue. He stepped back, as he continued nodding his head

‘’I can not believe this’’ he said, ‘’you are really the cheapest girl I have ever come across’’ he contiued, and I felt my heart break

‘’really, I am cheap?’’ I asked him, ‘’answer…’’ I was cut off, ‘’From tomorrow, I want you to stop working as a pul girl’’ he commanded, ‘’what’’ I asked, my voice barely coming out

‘’You heard me right, I don’t want to see you anymore’’ he stated, ‘’you disgust me’’ he said, looking away, before he entered his car and left me, speechless

I walked to my dorm, when I entered my room, a clothe and paper laid on my bed. I opened it  and it read;

                           ‘’you are to resume at the Raw club tomorrow and this is the cloth to wear’’     

I read out loud, ‘’that was very fast’’ I said as I laid on my bed
