After his four years in the academy Bradley Bradshaw became Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, even tho he was four years behind he was the best in his class and was now heading to Top Gun. Before he graduated the academy he applied for Top Gun and was accepted good thing the school is where he lives with his girl (if anyone is wondering it's in San Diego according to Wikipedia, I mean the movie and not the real school.) All he has to do is go back to his fiancée and get married, Bradley finally thought it was time to get married.
When he finally got home he knocked on the door but didn't expect to see a little girl there"Hello, who are you?" Bradley bent down on one knee to talk better to the little girl "My names Bradley, what's your name kiddo." The little girl smiled widely "My names Carole." Shocked hearing his mothers name he didn't hear the person he came looking for call out for the little girl. Once he un-spaced out he heard the voice he waited to hear for the past four years "Carole what did I say about opening the front door without mommy." The little girl looked down "to never open the doors to strangers." Once Marilyn got to the door and saw who was there she started crying, Carole looked confused at her mother "Mommy why are you crying." Marylin also got down to her knees and pulled her daughter towards her but also so Bradley can see her "Sweetie this is your daddy, Braddy this is Carole Meadow Bradshaw.....your daughter." He was in shock because the last time he saw her she wasn't pregnant, well that's what he thought.
"Would you like to come in." That's when Bradley broke out of his trance from looking at his little girl "yeah, yeah and hey is it alright if we can talk." Marilyn responded with a nod but then looked down at her daughter. "Hey kiddo why don't you head to bed and tomorrow we will explain everything." By the time they were both standing up and Carole was rubbing her eyes "yeah ok good night mommy." "Good night baby." Before going into her room Carole turned and looked at her dad, but she still wouldn't call him dad not for a while "Night Bradley." Bradley looked sad but he gets it "Night kid."
"Come on let's go to the backyard, it's farther away from her room." Bradley didn't look so happy Marilyn thought to herself, well maybe it's because she didn't tell him about the baby. When they got to the backyard they sat down and said nothing just looked into each others eyes. "Why didn't you tell me." Bradley told her breaking the silence, Marilyn let out a ragged breath "I didn't want you to find out that we had a daughter through a letter, I wanted you to meet her in person." He was not happy with that "I had the right to know that she existed, she's my daughter for gods sake." "Bradley you were gone and if I told you I knew you were going to come back and I didn't want to ruin your dream." She let out a shaker breath before getting up to get a better look at the ocean and then letting tears come out. Bradley got up and stood next to her and then he pulled to her in a tight hug and he just let her cry in his arms. To some passing by on the sand would think that a couple is having a nice moment but it's just a sad moment for them "I'm so sorry B." "It's ok Mari." Marilyn is relived and happy that they got this whole argument out of the way. They went down and sat by the water so they could just relax and enjoy their company now that he was back "Honey, I wanted to ask you something." Marilyn looks up at her fiancé "yes." "I think we should get married already." She looks at him in shock not expecting that "really you want to get married now." Bradley chuckles "Not right now but in like a month or two, I mean we don't need to have a big wedding." Marilyn agrees with that, she never really wanted a big wedding "Now that I have both of my girls with me we should get married." "I like that idea, maybe one in front of the house on the beach, have our chosen family and friends. Then have just a small dinner at a restaurant how's that." Bradley chuckles because he knows that they were really people who don't care about things really, but one thing for sure is that they both care so much about their daughter. "Yeah that sounds good, I also have something else to tell you." She lifts her head to make eye contact with him "I was accepted into the top gun school." "Wait the one where our dads went to." "Yeah and it's right here in San Diego." "Oh that's amazing I'm so happy for you." He smiles at her and is happy that she is supporting him with this. "Hey how did your dad take it when you told him you were pregnant." She sighs deeply "I've tried to call him a couple of times, he never answers really. There was this one time I called and he wasn't the one who answered it was his one night stand."
Bradley just shakes his head disappointed with Maverick. "Hey I'll go down myself to go get him for the wedding doesn't matter if we area in bad terms he's still your father." Marilyn shakes her head "I don't think I want him at the wedding, I was thinking of asking uncle Ice to walk me down the isle. Since he's really been there for me and Carole since she was born." Bradley just shakes his head "Whatever you want honey, just tell me if you change your mind." They both got up and started walking towards their home and the Bradley remembered something "Oh hey I would love for you and Carole to meet some of my friends that are going to Top Gun with me if that's alright." Marilyn nods and smiles "yeah of course any friends of yours are friends of mine." Then Marilyn remembered something too "Hey I just remembered something to Carole is having a small awards ceremony for her kindergarten class would you like to come."
"Yeah of course babe, I want to be here for her when I can, I don't want to be like your dad." Marilyn didn't take that to offense her dad was never there for her, he was usually flying around "yeah I totally, why don't we head to bed so we can drop her off early and maybe have a bit of fun before the ceremony." She gives Bradley this funny winking face, he lowers his face and whispers in her ear "Definitely but only if you deserve it." She whispers back "I've waited four years for you big boy I think I do deserve it." They both laugh and head inside to get some rest, when Marilyn fell asleep Bradley snuck out of the room to go see if his daughter was sleeping soundly. When he got there he saw that she was sleeping but with a smile on her face he went closer to her and kissed her forehead and whispered in her ear thinking she couldn't hear him but she could his daughter was a very gifted and smart girl "I promise you Carole that I won't fail you like your grandfather did your mom. I will always be there for you, I've barley met you but I already love you." He walks out of the room and goes back to bed and pulls Marilyn close to him. He was glad that this was his life, one things for sure you can't ever separate a Mitchell from a Bradshaw and that's a fact.
Who would have thought that these two best friends would have made it through all of this together and still be very happy with each other, now they have a family and are getting married but will her father be happy for them???Hello my loves I hope you have enjoyed this chapter worked on it all day
