*proceeds to finish writing at 5am LMAO*
Y/N walked down the corridor, moving along with the flow of all the students. Her next class was Herbology, and then Charms, and then Defense Against the Dark Arts.
The same routine everyday. She moved listlessly around everyone, catching snippets of conversation and spotting couples in the halls. She just looked ahead, as if they were not even there.
Y/N was not the type to socialize. She wasn’t a complete loner, as she did have friends, she just hated talking to people. She felt she didn't need to waste her energy making small talk with people she barley knew.
She kept to herself and was an exemplary student. There was nothing in her life that bothered her that much, since she was usually level- headed and didn't do things that caused her distress.
Well, except something in particular. Actually, more of someone...
"Ron, that's a great idea!" a voice exclaimed from the courtyard.
"Don't be imbeciles." A female voice shot back. "You will get in trouble."
"I don't see the problem." Another voice sighed.
Y/N stopped and curiously looked at the group in the courtyard. A girl sat on a bench made of stone, with frizzy brown hair and a stern look on her face. A redhead boy was standing up, gesturing with his hands in exaggeration. It looked as if they were arguing.
Sitting beside the girl was a boy. A boy Y/N sort of knew. Well, everyone knew him, of course they did.
The boy with shining green eyes, dark brown hair, and a lighting scar placed on his forehead. Harry Potter. The Boy who Lived.
Y/N blinked at him, stunned by his appearance. She had had a crush on him for the longest time, but one she did not expect to go anywhere. She liked to look at him from afar and admire.
I mean, why would he fall for someone like her?
Harry laughed, and pushed his hair out of his face, smirking as he taunted his friends. Y/N could feel the blush rushing to her cheeks, and she turned and looked away, just in case he saw her.
She'd never had a real conversation with him, but she knew he was sweet and energetic and much too sassy for his own good. Just thinking about him made her heart pound.
Though, she could only force it down. She'd never have the courage to talk to him anyway.
She looked away from the courtyard and continued to walk towards Herbology, Harry now the only thing in her mind.
He was almost like a parasite, without even knowing. His voice and his smile would attach to her brain and not let go. She would try to ignore him, but he was always there. Always laughing and grinning.
Y/N shook her head aggressively. Get yourself together, Y/N. She thought to herself. No getting distracted by him.
She steeled her heart and continued to walk, her pace increasing.
When would she realize that she could not simply walk away from her feelings?
~~~
"Turn to page 489." Professor Snape said, his back turned to the class.
Y/N opened her book, took out her quill, placed her bag on the ground, and stared ahead. She was like this in every class, paying close attention to every little thing.
She had heard from her friend that some people thought she was a suck up because she acted that way, but she was not. She just wanted to know everything about everything.
