"Hey LuLu!" Xander, the youngest — other than me — in The Pikes ruffles my hair and wraps his arm around my shoulder pulling me close into his side. Xander is my favourite of all the gang. Don't get me wrong, I love every single one of these guys considering they're the only family I have, but Xander is just special. He made me feel so much more welcome than some of the others when I first joined The Pikes last year.

"Hi ZayZay."

"I told you to stop calling me that!"

"I told you I don't care!"

"Attitude Missy!" Eddie shouts from the other side of the gas station while filling his bike up. Eddie is the oldest, being 29, and he's the father of the gang. At least he's a father model to me.

"Sorry. Tell ZayZay to stop being a baby though."

"Xander stop being a little bitch and let Lu call you ZayZay." I'm the only girl in The Pikes and it's going to stay that way. I was their exception. They have a strict 'Only Male' rule for The Pikes, but when I had my...situation last year, they all comforted me and took care of me, and we all grew to love each other like real family.

"Where are the guys?" There are a whole bunch of us, but only Eddie and Xander are here.

"JJ took them to beat up this asshole 'cause he said something about the gang. Just starting trouble if you ask me."

"JJ loves trouble."

"Sure does."

"Oh here they come." I hear lots of motorcycles from behind me, revving their engines and zooming down to where we are.

"Is that LuLu?" JJ comes jumping off his bike and straight into my open arms. "How you doin' kid?" He kisses my cheek and then wraps an arm around my shoulder, treating me like an armrest.

"I'm good. Just got back from the store. Heard you've been causing trouble while I was gone."

"I'm always starting trouble, babe."

"Yeah I know. You're an idiot."

"Hey! Bit-"

"You finish that word and the whole lot of us Pikes will beat your ass. I don't care if you're kidding, you don't call LuLu a bitch." Eddie and Xander look appalled from behind me and JJ. I love how protective the gang is over me. It makes me feel safe.

"Sorry Luella."

"That's okay. I'm still gonna beat your ass though." I hear laughs from around the group and start squaring up to JJ.

"Oh yeah?"

"Lay a finger on her and you're a dead man." Lottie, another member pats him on the shoulder, warning JJ not to fight me.

"Oh come on! This is just bullying!" He retreats and heads inside the gas station.

"We're goin' on a road trip tonight. You up for it?"

"What time you leaving?"

"Around 8. We gotta wait up for someone though so maybe 8:30."

"Yeah. Yeah I'll just need to get a few things before."

"Text me when you're ready and we'll start getting the bikes set up."

"Alright. I gotta go guys. See you later!"

"Love you LuLu." All the guys sing out to me as I start wandering off into the distance.

"Love you Pikes!"

Me: I'm ready.
Me: I'll start walking down now.

Eddie: take your time.
Eddie: we're meeting the guy tomorrow instead.

Me: alright.

I've packed everything I need in a backpack to take on the road trip. My motorcycle is at the station with Eddie, so I have to walk. I wonder if they're meeting a new member? Oh that would be so exciting, especially since I wouldn't be the newest one anymore.

I step outside the house I've been sleeping in and the warm breeze hits my face like a slap. The gas station I'm meeting everyone at is only a 10 minute walk and it's only 7:40 so I have time. As I walk down Briar street, I pass a large group of boys. They look either my age or a little older.

"Hey baby, where you headed?" A blonde boy with a pair of sunglasses covering his eyes tries to talk to me.

"Your dad said he wants to fuck me again." Sniggers and laughs sound out from around the guy at my snarky comment.

"Fuck you."

"I'm sure you'd love to. Bye boys." I wave to them all as I walk off.

I finally make it to the station and all the guys surround something.

"Hey guys. What's up?" They all look to me, guilty expressions on their faces.

"It was Leo!" Xander shouts and points to his right.

"What was Leo?" Everybody moves away and I see my bike. Broken. "What the fuck! What did you do?"

"I'm sorry Lu, it was an accident." Leo looks like he's about to cry.

"It's fine. But how am I gonna ride with you all tonight? Nobody's bike is big enough for two." All the motorcycles have one small seat, and then behind is all the supplies we need for this trip.

"She can ride with me." I turn to look at who said that, because their voice is so low, it couldn't have possibly been one of the guys. I see a very tall and broad man standing there, his helmet in his hand and a cigarette perched in his mouth.

"Blaine? What the fuck are you doing here? You said tomorrow!" Eddie looks mad, probably because this Blaine guy messed up whatever plan he had.

"Well I'm here now aren't I?" He has eyes that are a brighter blue than the sky, a dangly earring in his right earlobe and a sliver nose ring in his right nostril. Curly, dark brown hair falls down onto his forehead. He's fucking hot. He meets my eyes and hold it. "You wanna ride with me then?"

"I-Sure."

"Alright guys, let's hit the road!" We all split and head to our rides, me trailing behind Blaine. He climbs onto his bike and then signals for me to get on behind him. So I do.

"Hold on to me." He wraps my arms around his torso and holy shit. It's rock hard. There's got to be at least a six pack under this shirt. All the guys have left now and are in-front of us. "You ready?"

"Yep."

"Alright then." He revs the engine and we're off, the summer breeze flowing my hair about, something I rarely feel because of the helmet I usually wear while riding my bike. This is great, having someone else driving me. It makes me feel free.
