Luella"Hey LuLu." As I walk through the door of the gas station we always meet at, JJ greets me with a big smile on his face, as usual.
"Hey JJ."
"Everyone is out the back."
"Oh okay, thanks." The Pikes are a biker gang, obviously, and every year, there's a street race. It's like the sports day you have at school, narrowing down the players until it's just a one on one race between two different biker gang members. I've never participated in one of these, because last year Eddie didn't want me to get hurt. I somehow convinced his stubborn ass to let me join in this time though. I walk out the back door of the gas station store and there they are. My friends. My family. Every single one of them is preparing themselves and their bikes, the races being in 30 minutes.
"Lu! Thank god you're here."
"What happened?"
"Leo won't shut the fuck up about how your mom's having a kid. I told him to shut his mouth but he won't until you confirm it."
"Yeah, she's pregnant."
"I told you!"
"I didn't say she wasn't!"
"Liar."
"Are we all ready? It takes about 15 minutes to get there."
"Yep. Let's go."
"Hey Lu? Your bike is in the garage."
"Oh. Thank you. I though I was gonna have to ride with Gabriel."
"Hey! What's wrong with riding with me?"
"Nothing you're just very judgmental."
"Shut up."

We arrive at the arena and there are easily one hundred people here. Swarms of men run around with parts of their bikes, and helmets getting ready to race. Not one woman is in this crowd. Not one, but me. I am the only female in this whole competition and to say it's a little intimidating is a complete lie. I could take every single one of these men and beat them. I'm sure of it.
"Good afternoon competitors! The first race will begin in 5 minutes." There's a female voice through the speakers all around the arena.
"Hey where's Blaine?" Eddie looks panicked as his eyes search the group.
"He's been AWOL since yesterday. He left early this morning and hasn't answered me all day."
"He's gone on a bender again?"
"Think so."

"The first race is about to begin. Our first racer is Willy from The Pins, and the second is Darien from The Kratos. Could you both make your ways up to the starting line in the next minute. Betting will take place in the booth at the front of the arena. Place your bets before the race starts or else they won't be confirmed." As the crowd starts to shift and 2 men approach the bright white line on the ground, people start whistling.
"Alright, start your engines, clip on your helmets and get ready to race! On your marks...Get set..." The suspense is killing me and I can tell it's killing everybody else also.
"Go!" A horn sounds out and it's deafening. But the screams and shouts of all the people here are louder. As they both speed off on their bikes, they fight to get some distance between them. The racer from The Pins is in front but the racer from The Kratos isn't far behind.
