"Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same."

Emily Bronte

Gwendolyn Rosier was never one to appreciate the idea of destiny, because destiny was out of her control. Gwendolyn hated that. She was a very particular person, and the idea of having a destiny already set for her bugged her.

Gwendolyn was always told from a young age that her destiny was always written out for her. She was to grow up, get into Slytherin, and marry another pureblood. If she didn't, well, there would be consequences that Gwendolyn didn't even want to think about.

Getting into Slytherin was the easy part. She was always ambitious, but she wasn't evil like many others in her year. In fact, she was one of the kindest people you'd ever meet. But, of course, she wasn't allowed to be friendly to anyone that wasn't either a Slytherin or a pureblood. She never had the heart to be cruel, so she relied on her friends to steer her away from those who she wasn't allowed to speak to. Gwendolyn didn't necessarily mind it too much, for the friends she had in Slytherin were quite lovely. She chose to ignore the instances of their bullying and harshness, because she wasn't allowed to say anything no matter how much she hated it.

She spent most of her days with Lyra and Eleanor, and she would engage in the occasional conversation with her twin, Evan, and his best friend, Regulus. When Gwendolyn was younger, her mother planned for her to marry Sirius Black when they graduated Hogwarts. However, Sirius Black had other plans. So, Gwendolyn was then thrown to his younger brother, Regulus. She didn't mind the idea of spending the rest of her life with Regulus, but she wished she could have chosen her own partner after falling into a blissful state of love. But, to avoid any punishments, Gwendolyn didn't let it bother her. She knew she would learn to love him.

If Gwendolyn was honest, she was jealous of Sirius Black. Just like her, he had a destiny written for him the day that he was born. But, Sirius? He was able to rewrite his own destiny, and he looked happier than ever. She was very jealous. She wished that she had the strength to do that herself, but she didn't.

So Gwendolyn would continue to live out her life the way her family had planned it.
