Chapter 16

Chapter 16 It has been 4 months since the funeral. I haven't seen my dad. I think he went back to Florida.

I was by my locker putting my things away to go to lunch. I close my locker and see Ross leaning on another locker.

I tell him,"Hey creep what's up."

He laughs and then says,"I'm not a creep. Oh and hey beautiful. I was thinking that maybe later we go out on a date."

"A date?"

"Huh not the response I was waiting for, but yeah"

I stare at him for a while cause he was making a puppy face. I then reply,
"Sure where though?"

"Yeah uh maybe I should have thought about where we should go before I asked you." he says smiling and then punches me lightly in my arm.

I smile and then he turns around and puts his arm on my shoulders. We walk inside the into the cafeteria. We wait in the lunch line and it was taking forever cause they ran out of food so now Ross was bored and started to play around with my hair

"Ross could you please stop doing that." I said laughing a little at his boredness.

"Yes sorry" he stopped and then rapidly ran his fingers through my hair.

"You are so annoying." I said laughing.

The last bell of the day rung and we were headed to Ross' car.

When we got there Ross opened the door for me and helped me in. He is so romantic some times. Anyway, he closed my door and then ran to his side.

"okay tell me where we are going for our date." I said as he turns on the car.

"It's a surprise. We need to pass by my house to pick something up."

"Okay." I say kindly.

We arrive at Ross' house. He gets out and I stay in the car.

I saw someone come out of his house. It was his mom. She looked into the car and was trying to see inside. She knocked on the window. I rolled the window down.

"Hey Stormie." I said trying not to sound awkward because I didn't go inside their house.

"Hey Laura. Why didn't you come out?" she asks

I reply nicely,"Ross said to stay here because he was just going to get something." I was not lying actually.

"Oh well he's getting everything ready."

"Oh. So do you know where we are going?"

The answer back was not what I expected. "I can't tell you it's a surprise."

"Oh just tell me." I begged.

"Hey why don't you come in?"

"Okay I really do need to go to the restroom." I got off the car and asked Stormie where the restroom is at.

She showed me where. While I was in there I texted Vanessa and fixed my hair and makeup. I also heard a lot of rattling coming from the living room.

I got out and got lost this was the first time I came to Ross' house though. It's huge!

I finally made my way to the dining room where Ross was at drinking water from a water bottle.

His mom then comes in from I'm guessing the kitchen with an extra water bottle.

She handed me the water. I opened it and drank from it.

"So Laura, Ross tells me your Chairwoman of the Prom Committee." she sounds sort of happy.
