I've been thinking about this for awhile and decided to give it a try!

Mount Justice

Black ash rains down like always as me and Bart finish the preparations on out time machine. Well I'm doing most of the work seeing as she is the one who can manipulate technology. Bart puts his two cents in every now and then but mostly just lets me work while he paces.

"Calm down Bart we got this." Birdy said looking up from my work at the panel. She wasn't sure if I
she was trying to convince him or myself. She was nervous and was having a hard time hiding it and he could see that.

They have a simple mission. Go back in time, kill Blue Beetle, and save the future. It all was resting on their shoulders. They had to succeed. No matter the cost.

Bart looks at Birdy in deep thought as our friend Nathaniel walked up to us. "I wish I could come with you." He said looking at Bart. He always felt guilty for what he did. Now that he was no longer under the reaches control he looks out them. Seeing as neither of them had parents anymore.

"Sorry only room for two." Birdy said looking at him with sadness. She would miss him. He helped them and for that she would return the favor in the past.

She stand up as she completes her work. The time machine was done. Stepping back she grabs Barts hand squeezing it with hers. Birdy looked at him before nodding." It's ready. Time to get into character."

They both flash away and come back in their uniforms. Bart's is a lot like the Flash's it is one piece and covers his face. It was white and red and I always thought those color suited him.

I had to change my outfit as I was Robin here. If I knew anything about the past it was that there was at least one Robin running around at the time we are heading to. So my outfit was more like Red Hoods. Black pants , a red shirt with hints of yellow and black(like her Robin uniform), a simple brown jacket over it, and of course a pair of good gloves. If she was using her speed she could take the jacket off to get rid of resistance. Birdy also puts on a mask as no one can know her identity. Must be a family trait. She hummed to herself.

"Robin you look gorgeous stop worrying babe." She side eyes Bart as he sighed." We can't call you Robin in the future. So what's the new name baby bat?" She glared at him for using that name.

"Just call me Birdy." She grumbled. She swears Bart looked at her with stars in his eyes at the name. He had been trying to call her that for years and she always threw something at him. It was different now however.

Birdy blushed at his gaze. Only he could make me blush in an apocalypse. She grabbed his hand before pulling him into the machine. He buckled in as she walked over to Nathaniel.

"When we get ready to go you step back and press this button." She handed him the control switch and started her way back to the machine and strapping in."Thank you for everything."

Neutron looked at them both in the machine. He seemed sad." You......know this is a one-way trip right? There's no coming back after this."

Bart grabbed Birdys hand and nodded. They knew the risks. They talked about the risks. They talked about what they would do if one of them didn't make it past the first part of the mission. They talked about everything. It has always been just them.

"We know big guy. We'll save you we promise." Bart told him and Birdy just nodded at him with a small smile. She would miss him. They would miss him.

Nathaniel shut the door of the time machine. Birdy who still was holding onto Barts hand  clutched it for dear life. If this didn't work, Birdy and Bart would be torn apart by the fabric of reality. But if it worked they would be back 40 years in time at Mount Justice. They would fix the future.

They could feel the time machine activating and Birdy began to get nervous. Bart looked over at her with desperation in his eyes. They were both desperate. Her and Bart met when they were young. In the future their parents were killed. When they died, they couldn't take care of ourselves so we were sent to a reform school. The Reach's reform school.

When they turned seven they were sent to work camp. Bart and Birdy wore inhibitor callers to block their power, well they didn't have a choice. Being a meta was illegal. But everything was illegal. In the work camps she tried to take care of Bart as best as she could, she would steal food or medicine when he got sick. He did the same for Birdy. He'd do anything for her. Eventually though she got caught, and you don't ever wanna get caught here.

They took her arm, her left arm luckily. It's what they called a thief's punishment. Luckily she was able to build herself a robotic arm. It wasn't the best but she did what she could with what she had.

All of a sudden it felt like they was being torn apart. It hurt more than anything,but they've had worse. Which is why we both looked at each other with pain in our eyes but held in the screams. They were being thrown around at the speed of light and it wasn't pleasant. Birdy, whos whole body burned, but her lip so hard she asted blood.

Suddenly. It all stopped. Birdy knew they had made it from the alarms going off. They were in the past in Mount Justice. This was so crash.
