[Eraserhead POV]
Uuuuuggggggghhhhhh...
All because of my stupid students, I have to go on a patrol during the day!! They're going to be the death of me!! Then again, I say that every year...
I sighed in exhaustion as I soared over buildings with my scarf. I kept my eyes peeled for anything that felt off. I landed on the tallest building in Musutafu and looked over the city. It was calming, I would admit, not out loud, of course.
"Alright, everything seems go-"
My eyes widened and I shot off of the building and dove towards a kid who has just jumped. I grabbed an end of my scarf and threw it at the kid, successfully capturing him and used the other end to tie around an open window, stopping the both of us from falling. I lowered the both of us to where we could fall onto the lower building at a safe height. We both fell, I landed on my feet and the kid landed on his shoulder with a quiet grunt.
The kid had messy green hair, it made him look like a bush, and a school uniform that had several burn marks, rips, etc. I couldn't see his face, but I didn't need to. He was sobbing as he laid there.
What happened to him?
I slowly walked up to the kid. He seems so broken. I crouched in front of him, still not seeing his face as it was buried in his arms.
"Do you want something, kid?" I asked him, uncertain on how to help him. You would think that being a teacher would help, but it doesn't, in my opinion.
He finally looked at me. He had green eyes like his hair, but they looked dead. He had 4 freckles on each cheek in the shape of a rhombus that were stained with tears.
"I-... I want to be a hero..."
My eyes widened. There's only been one other time I've heard this. It was another kid who was maybe a little younger than this boy. The kid was quirkless and had finally given up on everything. She's doing better now and is now a doctor. In my opinion, still a hero.
"You're quirkless."
The kid nodded. I sighed.
"I know... I'm just a worthless waste of space, a Deku..."
I knew how quirkless people were treated, and I'm surprised that this kid went this long before giving up. It wasn't fair, but the world never was, and never will be.
I put my hand on his shoulder and looked into his eyes.
"With a body like that, no you can't," I told him, which made his eyes look at the ground in shame. "But, with lots and lots of training, maybe."
The kid looked up at me in shock, disbelief, and a ton of other emotions. Tears ran down his face as he sobbed, desperately trying to wipe the tears away to no advil. I patted his head and he tackled me into a hug, openly sobbing into my chest. I don't like hugs, but I'll make an acception. I patted the kid on the back.
"What's your name, kid?"
"I-Izuku... Mi-Midoriya..."
