The test subjects rarely ever forget the cold and silence of the tubes. They don't remember how long they were in there or what they saw on the other side of the glass.
When they're flushed out, they're given a room and food. It's as if the tube was a rebirth. The staff is kind and treats the test subjects like family. The white pants and long sleeves shirts made sure every child in the facility was equal. The kids knew they weren't equal though, not in the way the universe intended for them.
Aura Crystals were the resulting products. Gemstones that could give the user inhuman abilities. Each crystal gave the bearer abilities and protected them from harm. Vast research and hard work had made it easy to form these crystals.
"This one's ready," a calm voice said beyond the glass.
"Good. Prepare to flush the tube. Make sure it's vitals are stable."
"Vitals appear to be good. Flushing the tank now."
The chemicals in the tank began to drain downward. An unpleasant green liquid left the tube, revealing a small girl asleep within. Slowly she floated with the chemicals until she was lying on the floor.
"What shall we name this one, sir?"
A bald young man with a stern look upon his face approached the tank and looked down at the sleeping child in it.
"Let's call her... Maya."
