The Day We Met

Madelyn's pov

August 2nd 2021

I sat in the drivers seat of my car as I drove up to the avengers compound in New York City. I was extremely nervous to be here.

I mean it can't be too bad can it?

I drove into the parking garage and parked in the spot that I was instructed by Tony Stark to park at.

I parked the car and took the keys out of the ignition. I put the keys in my purse and I took a deep breath. I pulled down the mirror and looked at myself to make sure I looked presentable and I did.

I put it back up and I took another deep breath. I opened the door and grabbed my purse from the passenger seat and got out. I closed the door and walked to the trunk of the car. I took out my bags and boxes and as I was doing so one of the workers was sent to help.

They took my things onto carts and brought them inside the building. I took another breath as I walked to the doors.

I walked inside and went to the front desk were I waited for a couple of minutes. By the time I was next I knew I was going to be really late.

"Hi, I'm here to see Tony Stark." I said to the woman at the front desk.

"And what is your name Miss?" She said back to me nicely and with a smile.

"Madelyn Quinn." I said with a smile.

"Okay so this man right here will show you to his office, have a nice day." She said as she pointed to a man.

I followed him into the elevators that as at the end of a large hall. When we were in the elevator it was awkwardly silent.

When the elevator dinged I knew we were almost there. Seconds later the doors opened and the man stepped out and waited for me to follow.

I walked out and we walked over to the large office doors at the end of the hall.

He didn't go past the doors after he had opened them. I looked at him and smiled and I said...

"Thank you, have a nice day."

"You as well." He said back with a smile.

I fully walked into the office and sat down waiting for him to get off the phone. I looked at him with a calm and patient face but I wanted him to hurry up.

"Okay thank you I'll talk to you later, bye." He said then hung up his phone.

"I'm here!" I said then smiled at him.

"Thank god! I thought you changed your mind because you were late." He said as he gave me a huge smile.

"Nope, I just got caught in traffic and because I had to take my things out my car and had to wait in line and had to take the elevator up here." I said as I smiled back at him.

"Okay so I had someone bring your things to your room. And as they finish doing that I'll show you around and I'll introduce you to everyone." He said as we got up off our chairs and walked over to the door.

He opened the door and let me go out first. He and I then walked around the compound as he told me everything I need to know. We walked around and he showed me the lab, Med bay, gym, weapons room, laundry rooms, party rooms, the bar, my personal office and many other places.
