I couldn’t enjoy my meal. Nope, not one bit. Wanna know why? Because he was sitting next to me. Yep, that’s why. He was sitting there like his hot self, being all innocent and all when I know he’s not. It made me wanted to punch him right then and there.

Why is it that the hot guys are always the douches? Why? Can someone explain this to me?

“Do you mind?” He interrupted my thoughts, his green eyes looking at me as though I have done something so incredibly wrong making me scoff in return.

“What?” I spat, clearly not in the mood for him as he just sat there looking at me because you know, that’s not creepy or anything. . .

“I want to eat.” He replied back as though it were the most obvious thing in the world.

“So?” I scrunched my face together in confusion. “Then eat. Why are you telling me that?”

“Because,” He flicked his hair out of his eyes. “I can’t eat with you staring at me as though you want to kill me.”

Rolling my eyes, I couldn’t help but laugh to how ridiculous he was being. “Please.” I put a hand up. “Don’t even go there.”

“Go where?” He furrowed his brows. “I’m really beginning to think the one who really needs help here is you.”

“It’s not my fault you’re retarded you can’t understand me.” I sneered.

“Well maybe if you spoke normally I would be able to understand you!” He spat back, his eyes narrowing towards me as I returned the favor.

He’s really beginning to get on my last nerve. Oh wait, he’s already crossed that line hours ago.

“Maybe you’d be able to understand me if you weren’t as stupid as you are.”

“I am not stupid.” He gushed as I laughed humorously in return.

“Oh-Kay.” I shook my head. “Whatever helps you sleep at night and shut the help up.”

“Is there a legitimate reason why you hate me so much?

“As id it isn’t obvious!” I practically screamed but in a low whisper - careful not to gain the attention of the people around the table though I’m surprised I haven’t already.

“Okay, listen, it was a mistake. It’s not my fault you decided to change in front of a uncovered window. You’re lucky it wasn’t some sick old man living there.” He added in his defense as my eyes darkened.

“And that makes it better? I didn’t know there was anyone next door! Last time I checked, it was empty. It’s not like I go around asking people if anyone lived there because you know, I needed to change.”

“Now you are the one being just completely ridiculous.”

“Oh, learning big words now I see?” I faked a gasp, covering my mouth in complete ‘surprise’ as he merely just shook his head.

“I don’t even know why I try.”

“Yeah, neither do I.”

Dinner had gone by rather slowly, my argument with Josh still annoying me to an extent as I thought of all the ways I could end his life. Call me crazy but just remember - I never said I was normal.

“It was so nice to sit down and chat with you guys.” My mother smiled, hugging each of them as well as that good for nothing pervert.

Finally, there were leaving.

“Same here.” His mother smiled. “Thank you so much for dinner, it was amazing.”

“Thank you.” My mother blushed as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

“I had a great time tonight Mrs. Smith. Thank you for everything.” He smiled, making me grind my teeth together, my fists clenching as he turned to me with a smirk. “And thanks Laney for showing me your room.”

Rolling my eyes, I scoffed as my mother nudged me, making me respond. “It was no problem.” I mumbled as my mother sighed in relief.

“Well, we better get going, it’s getting late and Josh here has his first day of school tomorrow.”

My eyes widened as my mother turned her gaze from her to Josh before moving her gaze towards her. “Oh, really?”

“Yeah.” He smiled big as I watched him suspiciously.

“What school is he attending?” My father spoke up this time as his mother turned to my dad.

“Averly. . .”

Oh no.

“High school. . .”

Oh please no.

“Just a few blocks from here.”

F.

Smiling wide my mother clamped her hands on my shoulders. “Well isn’t that just ironic?”

M.

“Laney goes to the exact same school!” She continued, practically squealing like a school girl as my face dropped completely.

L.

. . . . Can my life get any worse?

Probably.
