Fumikage Tokoyami x Reader (Fluff)

--> And maybe some angst if you squint really hard :)

Prompt: You decide to join your new boyfriend Tokoyami in his room to enjoy yoir evening together. Since you've only been together a couple weeks Tokoyami is a slight bit nervous and eventually spills his worries to you

"Hey...Fumi?"

"..."

"Fumikage?

"..."

This is not how you were hoping your evening to go. You'd decided to go to Tokoyami's dorm to wind down and spend time with your boyfriend. You both had been so busy with classes that the two of you hadn't spent much time together that week, worried that he would feel neglected, you then chose to spend your evening at his dorm. But so far Tokoyami had said barely anything to you, his posture was stiff and he kept avoiding eye contact. You knew he could be nervous since when you first got together he was hesitant to even hold your hand in the common room.

But...that was a couple weeks ago. Surely he isn't still that nervous around you...right?

"Tokoyami!" you shake him as his gaze snaps you.

"Was I spaced out [name]?" His eyes meeting yours with a warm look yet his posture still stiffened.

"More like purposefully ignoring me," you huff, sitting up on his bed to turn away to look anywhere else in his room but at him.

"My apologies love, it wasn't intentional," he reaches to place his hands on your shoulders but you refuse to turn to him, making him sigh before releasing you. "It's just that...I can't help but worry about our relationship. That it won't make you happy, I haven't really done this before so I'm unsure of the ropes and I'm hesitant to even go to Shoji for advice. I had no intention to hurt you love, I was just afraid I would not be able to make you as happy as I possibly can in our relationship. I was concerned I might do the wrong thing without knowing and hurt you."

You sigh in relief at his words, glad to now know the reason behind his weird behaviour. You turn to meet his gaze, slightly teary as you bring your hands to his head and gently stroke his feathers to then place a quick kiss to his beak.

"It's okay to tell me these things, in truth I was worried you didn't want to spend time with me here since you were acting all tense," you laugh as he engulfs you in a hug, pulling you down so that you're lying on top of him in the middle of his bed.

"I would never reject an opportunity to spend time with my favorite love-bird," Tokoyami chuckles slightly at his own little pun as you smile at his now happier state.

"If you ever have doubts you can talk to me. I'll always be open to talking with you Fumi," you smile as you snuggle into his chest, his arms wrapping around your back.

"Thank you for your kind words love, I intend to do so in the future," he gives you a quick squeeze before slowly closing his eyes and relaxing.

Content silence filled his room and you stayed embraced with him, happy as can be. Until a question crossed your mind. Peering your eyes open you spot a clock on his bedside table, it was 10:40pm already? You were wondering if you should head back to your dorm or not, you'd rather stay here with him. I mean you're already in your comfy-looking pyjamas, what's the harm in you staying anyway? But of course you still had to ask Tokoyami, just to be certain he didn't mind like you thought.

"Hey Fumi?"

"Yes [name]?"

"Can I stay here for the night? I mean I'm already in my pyjamas and I don't want to risk waking anyone up on my way back to my dorm," you ask and hear Tokoyami hum in thought. He shifts slightly before rubbing your back with a soft smile.

"Of course [name] you're welcome to stay here anytime. I'll always love having your company day or night," you smile tiredly at his response and allow your eyes to close.

Your body relaxes as Tokoyami's soft heartbeats lull you to sleep, his warm and loving embrace making you feel full to the brim with joy, making you almost wonder what he ever doubted himself in previously.

You only saw how perfectly loving and lovable he was.

ALSO SORRY I DISAPPEARED FOR LIKE...HOWEVER LONG I DID.

Because I'm in my finals week I wanted to focus on my studies and I had this week off so I thought I'd try to write something for you all :)

It's currently 23:08 when I competed writing this but I'll probably publish it in the morning. I intend to get two more chapters done during this no sleep time for me :D
