Hello fellow Wattpadians, I want to write a short introduction for this book because I have something important I'd like to say.
This story you are about to read was, in truth, the first story I ever created. I have since then edited it into what it is now but this is my oldest novel. The first story I ever wrote. The first time I put pen to paper and wrote a tale that had a beginning and an ending. And what a tale this one is.
If you have read most of my books, I am here to tell you this one isn't bloody and gory and full of death. It isn't a very violent novel. It is just a plain fantasy novel.
But, I'm not saying that this book won't have any fight scenes or death scenes because there are plenty of those in here. And I will try my best to sprinkle a little bit of my horror magic on here. But this isn't one of my horror novels. This is a fantasy story.
All the characters in this book are of my own creation. I have not picked off of other books for these characters. References and influences most definitely. But the way these characters, the monsters that lurk in these words and pages, everything here are my imagination; and my imagination only. So any of the creatures in these pages....they belong to me! Sorry, hopefully that didn't come off as rude or in your face. If so, then my sincere apologies.
When I originally wrote this book, I had never written any story in my life. I had written songs but that was about it. I still recall when I first wrote this book. My mom had come home from the dollar store and she gave me this tiny little journal that was wrapped in plastic. The journal was sparkly gold and when you touched the cover, you'd get sparkly glitter all over you. It was cheaply made but I loved it all the same. It was there that I decided to put pen to paper and write a book. My very first book. And since I hadn't written a book before, I took the story very lightly. But trust me, this version you have before you is anything but light...ish.
For more details on how the original version of this book went, try to imagine The Spiderwick Chronicles mixed with Jim Henson's Labyrinth starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. And without the Huppets, Sagics, Pands, that sex scene that you will read in pretty interesting detail, and many more stuff that this version of the book has. That's what the original version of The Book Of Secrets Long Begotten was. What a long way this book has come. Only this version I feel is much more better and interesting to say the least.
Another thing to remember is that a lot of my work is inspired by Metal music. This story is no different. In fact, my favorite band of all time, Nightwish, is a strong focus in this book even though they themselves are not a part of it.
For instance, there are references to Nightwish found all over this book like the Org by the name of Tuommle who is a direct reference to Tuomas Holopainen. Hietalk the badass Pand is a a reference to Marco Hietala. Princess Nevaldine is a combination of the name Nevalainen (Jukka Nevalainen) and the cereal drink Ovaltine. The name Jukka is also used as the main character's son. And lastly, Vänskär is a reference to Sami Vänskä. Also, during the sex scene, I imagine the Nightwish song Forever Yours playing. So yeah, Nightwish galore.
If you happen to find my darker stuff more fun to read then I suggest not reading this one. Go ahead and read that other book you've been eyeing, I'll wait.......still waiting....ok. But if you are going to read this one, then get ready for the adventure of your life! You are in for a treat, and I don't want to keep you waiting!
