THE PROMISE

CHAPTER 1

SUMMER
"Good morning mom" Alice Timmer greeted her mother as she walked inside the kitchen.  

"Good morning too Honey...."she greeted while smiling as she drag a plate filled with a heavenly breakfast. 

Crispy bacon strips, one perfectly cooked sunny side up egg with 2 hot toasted fresh bread on the edge of the plate.This is what I call "heaven at morning specialty" Alice thought and started to drool over the food. She quickly run to grab the plate when she felt someone blocked her way and bumped into it.

"Marc! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" Alice shouted at her douchebag brother who blocked his big wide muscular body to able to grab the plate.

"Im sorry?I didn't know you where coming..."he smirked and kissed mom on the cheek as a greeting of 'good morning' to her.

Alice crossed her arms in her chest and frown at Marc who is actually teasing her , she can feel her stomache grumbling inside her. "no worries Alison,I got you another plate."she smiled and handed her another heaven at morning specialty, now double that! Alice's eyes popped out of her head causing her stomache to grumble louder. Marc ,who is actually stuffing his mouth with bacon and laughing at his sister, suddenly dropped the grin on his face.

"your so unfair ..."he muttered and finished his breakfast across the table infront of her .Alice gave him her 'I-just-won-at this-fight' grin And started to munch her own toast hungrily."

So.....how is Diana?I havent seen her since the festival event in your school last year....Do you work together at the Donut shop beside the Montero's bakery ?" mom asked her,trying to break the dead silence in the kitchen.

"yeah ,we are together in morning shift and work at night shift during weekends."Alice smiled and look at her as she nods and took a sip in her coffee and started to stare at his brother slowly. Marc,who is halfway finishing the food glance at mom and slowed down abit.

"Um...did I did somethin wrong?.."and slowly gulped the food in his mouth without breaking the stare from mom. she watch them for a minute and mom started to open her mouth."Mr.Colton saw you trashing his garden last night and called me because he said you re drunk..."she said in angry tone.Marc glance at Alice and to mom ..He is eyeing her to save him from being grounded,she rolled her eyes 'uhh i hate to do this' before she started acting something believable.

"hahahaha!mom,Marc is not trashing Mr.Colton's garden! I dare him to do It and to act like crazy because of daring me some gross dares but I swear, We didn't really mean It and I'm sorry ...it's my fault..." and looked down ,acting as If she is really sorry. Mom's mood changed and gave her a pity look."okay...stop that now!I'm sorry honey..I didn't know It was you ...and his statement telling me that Marc is drunk shocked me...I forbid you two to taste such  kind of drink in your early age...but IF It will be true next time, I will give you two baby sitters who will be following you everywhere you go."she threatened them.they just glared at each other and he sighed, relieved. and gave her a small smile ,She look again to mom and smiled"thanks for understanding us mom..we love you so much ..."and hugged her tightly , released grip from the hug and smiled again

"we promise never do It again...but I'm sorry mom,Marc and I need to leave,I'll be dropping him at his work place....so we better go before we get late.bye mom !"she kissed her in the cheeks and grabbed her keys in the counter near her bag and tossed her bag in his brother as he catch It perfectly in his chest effortlessly, Alice is used In that kick ass move of Marc so she quickly open the engine and waited for his brother in  the car after few minutes.

ALICE POV

"Alice,I know you hate me so much but you still saved me!!"he smiled widely at me and quickly pulled me into a hug and squeeze me tightly that I cant even breath anymore "OKAY BRO!!!THATS ENOUGH!!"I muttered loudly and he finally let go of me and began kissing me several times it the cheek "EEEWWWW!!!"I shrieked. 'I swear girls are dying to have that kisses from him but if they only knew...It gross so much!'

"Thanks for dropping me sis! Have a good day at work..." he smiled and left quickly cuz he is 5 minutes late even though Its 4am in the morning

"Two plain donuts and dark coffee, please."a polite male costumer boomed out of nowhere but his tone was calm.I'm reading a very Interesting book and I was really want to continue finishing It so I took his order quickly without glancing at him "4 dollars ,sir."He handed me the money and return his change while quickly preparing his order.Suddenly,he cleared his throat and spoke in dark but friendly tone voice"nice book you got there,miss Timmer."I stopped and finally look up to the male costumer.

O my god...
He looks like a god with his dark blue eyes that will totally make you stare at them for awhile,his cheeks,ears and perfect lips are pink.his skin is flawless and and white,i studied his beautiful figures for a long time before snapping myself into reality. "umm...here is your order,sir." I slip the tray in the counter and smiled at him"Have a good day-" he cutted me off "I must say you are a really beautiful girl,miss Timmer."

How did he know my name?!

Maybe he is stalking me all the time!

"Umm..sir ,how d-did you..know my name?"I asked him,he looked into my chest..I give him a confused frown and take a look on where he is looking..my name tag. I felt my cheeks getting hot and maybe starting to get red.
"Uhhh...ahahahah silly me..eheheh...." trying to look normal in front of him.His eyes bore into mine for awhile...I cant focus my eyes to him.

Okay.....awkward...

Suddenly he smiled and his breath smells mint as he laughed a bit."Nice to meet you,I'm Dean, Dean Parker."he offered his hand to me and I smiled back and handshake me."Hi nice to meet you Dean. Again,I'm Alice Timmer."I laugh softly,"Im sorry about My reactions...you know..I'm not used In meeting new people..I'm sorry."

"Its alright,I'm used to that reactions every time I'm trying to be friendly .so if you excuse me, I must take this breakfast already Alice,Its pleasure to meet you this morning.see you soon I guess..." he said before flashing another big grin on his face and took his order before leaving the shop.

Hope too see you too again, Dean Parker.

As I smiled at his back walking away,I picked up the book and continue reading It, blushing.I can feel my cheeks getting hot and I swear I can Imagine myself looked like a bright red tomato.

"Aww so sweet, hey Tomato....he is handsome, isn't he?"Diana walked slowly carrying a new set of tray of Donuts ,smiling at me teasingly.
"Shut up,dirty Diana,you make out with thousands of men that exactly looks like him!"
She started to laugh hard and almost drop dozen of donuts on the  floor.

Okay,It wasn't true but she will tease me till our shifts are over, c'mon!who will stand that annoyance?

I rolled my eyes while grinning a little
I checked my watch and said to her,"Our shift is over, Timothy and Christ will be coming over after few minutes...lets go."
