Entry 1: I avoid certain doom with a juice box

The weather was warm, sunny, and all around quite pleasant. A great day for a picnic on the beach. Not a great day to be attacked by a slimy sea monster but there I stood. Gripping my trident, yet again staring into the face of a baby Kraken as we tried to pull into the harbour at long island sound.

Now you're probably wondering... Who am I, and how do I keep getting myself into situations like this? Well to answer who I am my name is Andreus Merleaux and I'm 14 years old. Everything else is classified. And when I say classified that's fancy code for I don't know what else to tell you.

As for how I keep getting into these situations? I'm God. Well... Not with a big g... and not without a demi before the little g. A half god child of one of the Olympians. The other half? Well maybe you'll find out maybe you won't.

Back to the matter at hand. Baby Kraken. Hard to ignore when it's trying to kill you.

The putrid pink fleshy monster opened its beak for just a moment but that was enough for me to capitilize on its mistake. I threw my trident, Thyellas, down its throat. When I snapped my fingers the  trident exploded into a massive burst of wind and, well normally it would be water but I had a juice box on the tip since I learned awhile back that this particular Kraken is allergic to grapes. When my trident exploded, so did the baby kraken. Shattered into dust. Y'know, as monsters do when they're defeated by an awesome hero such as myself.

My ship, tattered and torn, began to break apart as it sunk into the sound. What a shame. I really liked that one. I wasn't too worried. I'm a strong swimmer and excel at aquatic combat since well... that's the only combat I've been trained in.

"Now Merleaux," A large man with a bushy beard and a fishtail said to me as I came up from  the water. "Remember, you stayed at our camp only on the recommendation of Lord Triton. You have done very well in your training so I'm trusting you not to tell anyone which camp you came from. Especially not any other sons of Poseidon. Politics, y'know?"

I nodded. "Thank you Aphros . You've been like a father to me."

Aphros' mouth quivered. "Yes well... Just doing my job. Take care of yourself. I hope my brownie recipe serves you well."

And with that Aphros submerged himself beneath the waves. I was about to simply swim to shore when I caught sight of two girls clinging on to some of the remains of my ship, barely holding consciousness. Quickly I swam to them. I hauled both of them on my wings (oops, I think I forgot to mention I have those) and submerged us underwater. Thankfully it's not just me that can breathe under there but also anyone in contact with me I can give the same blessing to.

I willed the waves to shore but when I came too close I ran up against what seemed to be an invisible wall. I scanned the waters but didn't have to for too long. Nereids (Ocean spirits) seemed to be swimming freely through the invisible wall.

"Can you take these two to shore for me?" I asked.

The Nereids giggled and did as I asked. I brought my head above the water. Aphros told me about the wall but I hadn't expected anyone else would have been dumb enough to come into the harbour with a Kraken in the waters. Especially not without a ship of their own.

Apparently a giant squid monster laying waste to a (very beautiful) ship attracted a lot of attention. Dozens of kids were lined across the shore along with a horse man. I assumed that was Chiron, the activities director Aphros had told me about.

I grabbed the flare gun that was given to me. I'd already been claimed back at my other camp... or rather I had never needed to be claimed because there was no doubt as to who my parents were. Apparently that didn't fly too well at camp half blood (But I sure did. Wings joke. Ba dum tsss). Pointing the flare upwards I pulled the trigger and it shot out bursting into the form of a trident. The Centaur who I assumed was Chiron seemed to nod in approval and shouted something inaudible to me.
