(Y/N's P.O.V)
It has been a few days since I had left the town I started in, and I had finally made it to the next town over this morning. I was beyond excited to sit in a nice cafe and finally get some coffee in my sleep deprived body, cause insomnia seems to love me!
Apparently the squirrels loved my fucking stew too, you don't even want to know how many times that incident has happened. All that stew I wasted. .
I was finishing up my coffee when suddenly screams rang out throughout the town, causing me to nearly jump out of my skin. I peered out the window to see people running as robots began invading the town. 'That's something you don't see everyday' I thought to myself.
I knew these robots all too well, after all, everyone's heard of eggman! I'd seen a few attacks here and there in my treasure hunting travels, but this attack seemed a bit excessive. I left some money on my table next to my now empty cup of coffee and got up, walking outside to get a better view of what's going on.
I look up, immiedately taking notice of the egg-mobile circling above. "Definitely Dr. Eggman" I muttered. I estimated how high he was off the ground before leaning down and picking up a nearby rock and aiming it, efficiently chucking it at him. I missed!
Apparently, my luck was changed because the rock had somehow managed to hit the vehicles control pannel as it came tumbling to the ground with a terrified doctor shouting in surprise.
"What the?! Who did that?! Sonic, if that's you I'll-" Dr. Eggman went quiet when I raised my hand, taking full ownership of what I did with a smug grin. "Who the hell are you?" He asked, "names Y/N, flimsy robot attack by the way. I so happened to have just drank coffee, you don't want to see me angry after drinking caffeine buddy!" I threatened, putting my hand on my hip. "Oh, so now you think you can threaten me?! Do you know who I am?! I'm-" "Dr. Eggman, the self proclaimed smartest scientist on Mobius, yeah, yeah!" I interrupt, rolling my eyes, now he was really starting to get angry. "That's it, I demand respect! robots attack!!!" He yelled, pointing down at me as he began throwing a tantrum. As I brace myself for combat suddenly a blue blur zooms past, effectively taking down a few of the robots in his path. "I don't think there'll be a need for that, egghead, your buissness is with me!" It was Sonic!
I'd seen Sonic in action on a few of my travels, but never up close, this would truly be fascinating and a great plus side for my newest book! Sonic began thrashing the rest of the robots, I'll admit, he's pretty good at what he does.
I reached down and picked up another rock and pulled my arm back carefully. "Sonic! Duck!" I shouted, barely giving him time before throwing it. Sonic quickly had ducked down as the rock I threw flew over his head and went straight through the eye of a robot, causing it to effectively shut down. "Ugh! Retreat!!!" Eggman ordered, fleeing with the last of his robots to safety.
I put my hands on my hips in confidence, "another job well done" I say to myself, flicking my fluffy hair out of my face. "Hey, I'm Sonic, nice throw!" Sonic says, reaching his hand out. I gladly shook it, "I'm Y/N, nice to finally meet you in person, I've heard many good things about you, hero." I said, giving him a warm smile, his face suddenly dulled for a second before lighting up again, "Y/N? Oh, Tails is a big fan of your books, he's going to freak out when I tell him about this!" Sonic exclaims eagerly. Me and Sonic ended up talking for quite awhile, turns out Eggman is up to something big again and he was actually heading towards the town I had just let a few days prior.
"Well, it's been lovely but I best be off!" Sonic says, "oh! Before you go take this as a sign of my appreciation for helping me earlier, I'm sure your Fox friend will love it." I said, handing Sonic a signed copy of my latest book. "The others would love you, I hope we meet again sometime so I can introduce you" Sonic said grinning, I nod in agreement. "Say, before you go, do you know of a floating island? I'm in search of it and I'm sure I'm on the right path" I explain, hoping for any pointers. Sonic thought to himself for a moment, "hmm. . Oh yes! Angel Island! It's actually not too far from here currently. If you keep following the ocean you'll find it just a little bit before you hit the next village" Sonic said, "while your there, if you see an Echidna called Knuckles tell him I said hi!" and with a quick goodbye Sonic was gone and I was alone again. "Riches and adventure, here I come!"
