"Let's go, my treat for today's Lunch." Mai Ding says to An Ziyan happily as he dragged the standoffish man towards the school canteen.
"I'm hungry." An Ziyan replied impassively as he was grabbed by the bespectacled boy on the arm with enthusiasm and go along with it.
Once, they have reached their destination, Mai Ding led An Ziyan to the table they were seated last time (after AZY's outburst) and left to buy their meal sets. The aloof man gazed at Mai Ding's back and shakes his head sideways; smirking to show discontent.
"Idiot." An Ziyan mocked softly. Yet, there's a touch of tenderness in his voice.
As soon as Mai Ding came back holding the food trays, he looked at the cold expression of An Ziyan timidly to know his reaction after the fuss. He was using this chance to blur that unpleasant incident (his evading actions) from An Ziyan's memory.
But the man who was seated on the other side knows what Mai Ding is scheming and just exhaled noisily and gets the serving in front of him.
"Don't try to get out of this; I will spend every single dollar in that pocket of yours to compensate me." An Ziyan then grabbed his chopsticks and eat his food.
"How did it turn to that? I could only afford this much in this one meal. My whole allowance is not enough to splurge you for an entire buffet. An Ziyan, I am a poor person you know." Mai Ding replied sheepishly to him.
"I feel sorry for you." The aloof man stares back and ridiculed the boy blatantly.
"You're so heartless, I'm sorry alright, can't we just forget about it?" Mai Ding bit his chopsticks after and bowed down his head.
An Ziyan grinned as he listened to the man's apology. He took a glimpse at Mai Ding carefully and set his eyes on his coal-black hair and glowing white skin.
Little by little without him knowing, An Ziyan was slowly observing the bespectacled boy's slanted almond shaped eyes and long eyelashes, his well-shaped nose, pliant looking red lips and exposed slim neck.
"I want to bite..."
An Ziyan came back to his senses and was astonished to what he has said. This expressionless An Ziyan almost panic.
"Huh, you want to have a taste of my food too?" Mai Ding was unaware to what was happening. He gazed up to see An Ziyan turned to the side, covering his mouth with the back of his hand with elbow resting on the table.
"I said that I want to strangle you." Knitting his eyebrows, he was still not looking at Mai Ding while stating this.
Mai Ding wasn't scared by this remark for he already knows what kind of personality this man has. Just like before he became the annoying classmate that he is and appeal for his friend's compassion.
"An Ziyan, I know that I was wrong... but friends should be forgiving with each other, caring for each other and loving...." Suddenly, Mai Ding stopped for a while and blushed. Realizing the last line he was about to tell.
An Ziyan was irked to the word and looked back at Mai Ding fiercely cold than before. However, the bespectacled man wasn't aware of the real reason about this; he just hastily continued to eat not wanting to meet his stares anymore. 'Mai Ding, you are such a blabbermouth.' He thought to himself sullenly.
"Mai Ding, what can you say about the things that occurred these past few days?" The unreadable An Ziyan asked him, unexpectedly.
Mai Ding was about to speak about what the other man was talking about but...
"Are you really happy with this friendship?" An Ziyan verbalized ironically. You could sense the concealed meaning of his sentence.
The naive young man was taken aback to this question. He was happy that they could already talk but lonely with the outcome as well.
