Jane's Story:

One day I was reading under the shade of a tree near a rocky beach, he was sitting on the edge of the shoreline tossing stones and watching the ripples as the stones take a cool dip into the lake. I felt my eyes drift from my novella to his silhouette, dark, mysterious and attractive. I wrote a touching poem about him and we started dating, besides I'm the only one he ever truly loved! Anyway, I had this beautiful flower, a light pink geranium named Madison, he knew I loved this little flower like I would my own child. I went to a friend's cottage and gave him detailed instructions on how to care for Madison, I trusted him with my baby Maddy and I came back to my family's house trashed! Pizza boxes, beer cans and dirty dishes were everywhere, we had one of his friends sleeping on our couch and worst of all our garden had been neglected! Do you know what his excuse was? ''Oh sorry, babe but it's just some old plant.'' I was devasted, I ran upstairs with Madison, held her in my arms and wept, eventually falling asleep with a note next to me saying how because he went and killed the one I loved the most I had lost the means to live on. ''Basically, I convinced him I had died of a broken heart.''

''You have to admit she had me with those last 8 words of the note.'' Veronica said, Now who is next to share their pain? ''I am.''

Anna's Story:

I met Azrail on a dating site for teens and I was looking for a good guy with survivalist skills and an adventurous spirit, I thought he was worth a try and I will confess, I did use photoshop on my profile picture. but only to conceal my acne scars. We had our first date at the museum of natural history and when we locked eyes for the first time he scanned me with his silver eyes and said ''Not as pretty as her picture but she's good enough.'' We dated for a few months and one time we went to the mall, his friends were walking toward us and he shoved me into a nearby potted plant like what on earth is with you dude. Then he abandoned me in the mall so he can do who knows what with his friends, I stayed there until closing time but luckily mall security called a taxi to take me home but I was furious at him. I arrived at his house at 2 am and we had a huge argument. ''What is wrong with you, no wait, don't tell me I know exactly what this is! you're ashamed to be in public with me, you're ashamed to be dating a girl with a pixie cut and a few acne scars!'' ''Well, it's not my fault I was tricked by an ugly catfish who doesn't look like her profile picture.'' ''You know what, this ugly catfish is done with you, ''No, I am done being fooled, we're breaking up!'''' I smirked and said Fine, be my guest. It is really a shame that my face cost me a date but I'm fine with being single if it means I'm not dating him and I'm fine with all my little imperfections.

Kat's Story:

I had the exact opposite problem as Anna with Azrail, I was too attractive for him. He approached me when I was practicing for a tennis match and tried to flirt with me as many other dudes do and frankly I find it very irritating. One of my tennis balls accidentally hit him on the head, I ran over to check if he was alright and he spun my possession of basic human decency into a chance to ask me out. ''Hey, um I'm on the boys' tennis team and can I practice with you sometime? Just the two of us?'' Well, at least I can say he was subtle about it. So we practice and this guy is the absolute worst at tennis, he kept missing the ball at every swing, held the racket with two hands, was giggling every time I swung and hit it as if he was mocking me and at the end of practice he slapped my butt with his racket and said ''Yeah, you go girl!'''' Ok what is your deal? I've seen you play boys' tennis and you're good at that but why do you fail when you practice with me, do you love me?'' I batted my eyelashes, watching him whisper ''Yes, I do love you...''

So we started dating, lots of flirting, cuddles and kisses soon followed but one night he wanted more than just cuddles and kisses. there was a problem here, I was hesitant about doing it because I have a history of bad boyfriends who date me for my appearance and expect me to get down and sexy with them, I've tried to tell them no but they never listen, he never listened. Why did I think he would be different, it's never ever different! I put my foot down and explained why I was so hesitant, yelling ''NO!'' so he would get the message. Then he walked up to me and slapped me in the face saying ''That was because you have ex-boyfriends, in fact, I heard one of them kiss you when I wasn't around.'' And I was like, yeah whatever, get lost. I ran home and felt so relieved to have gotten rid of him. in case you were wondering, I'm the star player on my high school's tennis team.

Cate's Story:

I actually dated him for a whole school year until he transferred to your school Veronica so in a way I'm kind of a survivor. We met in my school's drama club, I was a mere production staff member but he admired me for my dedication to getting the theatre up and running, we went on a date to the gazebo in the local park where he gave me daisies and asked me to be his girlfriend. I told him I was very flattered but I made a decision long ago that I don't need his or anyone else's love to enjoy my life and would prefer it if we just remained close friends. He was surprisingly reasonable with me but from what the other girls have told me, that's a rare occurrence. We were unofficially dating until June when he moved to a new school, our relationship faded, and I never saw him again. Then a few weeks later I met these ladies and we bonded over having the same ex-boyfriend. so yeah that's our stories and how we became, ex-girlfriends.
