TW's: Voices, a ton of pain, bad family, fainting/passing out, talking about yelling,
A few weeks past and Deo got closer to the two princes, who in return started to accept him as part of their family.
This is about 4 weeks after the two met Deo.
"Deoo!"
Tommy complained as Deo moved away from him to look at Quackity, who was snickering at the sight.
Tommy pouted, and looked over to the yellow roses sitting next to him.
"Deooo... Come back I wanna finish it!"
Tommy whined while clinging to Deo's arm. The man laughed and sat back down, as Tommy put some flowers in the last braid he did and started another. His hands moved quickly and it was almost hypnotizing to watch, hence the reason Quackity was starring at Tommy's hands as they worked their magic.
He was wearing a goofy grin while he moved his wings and fluttered them a little, only to wince and let out a little chirp of discomfort.
Tommy glanced over at him and let out a small sigh, "I'll preen your wings next, alright?"
He said, trying to help.
Quackity nodded happily and continued to mess with the grass as Tommy finished up and moved next to Quackity to start on his wing preening. He was almost finished when he felt a sharp pain shoot through his back, it was the worst he had felt so far, yet he brushed it off, not wanting to bother anyone with it, while also thinking it wasn't a big deal. He continued his preening normally until the shooting pain became more worse, yet he still ignored it, and that pain grew larger, and he still ignored it until he was finished.
When he was finished Quackity had patted him on the head and Tommy chirped in delight, chirped, he never chirped.
Tommy's eyes widened and so did Quackity's.
"You- You chirped!"
Quackity said in astonishment yet excitement.
"I- I-"
Tommy started, confusion lacing his face and words.
But he thought of a few reasons quickly and went with the most likely one,
"I grew up around chirping and winged hybrids so it makes sense that I-"
Tommy was never able to finish his sentence because in that moment a horrible pain, worse then anything he ever felt, shot through his back.
He let out a cry of pain, falling to the ground and clawing at his back as pain seared through it. Tommy couldn't even hear the voices over the pain.
Quackity and Deo rushed over to try and help him, but they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Especially because Tommy was in so much pain he couldn't talk, so he couldn't tell them what was happening. Not that Tommy knew either.
He started crying, hot and salty tears flooding down his face from the pain, clouding his vision as his arms gave out and he fell onto the ground.
He laid face down on the ground unable to move, in great pain with Quackity and Deo scrambling around him to try and help, before something unexpected happened.
The pain became so bad for a moment, just one terrible second.
One that he could never ever describe again, and he blacked out from so much pain.
And even though Tommy didn't know it, given his unconscious state, the pain had gone away. And something quite wonderful took its place on his back.He woke up about 2 hours later.
He immediately saw Deo and Quackity concerned and hovering near his litte makeshift bed in the cave. They looked absolutely worried sick, and on the verge of either punching someone or having a panic attack.
Tommy let out a soft groan as he slowly sat up, both Deo and Quackity came rushing towards him. And before he knew it, they had both engulfed him in a hug.
"YOU'RE OK!"
They both basically cheered, excitedly hugging the small blonde prince. Tommy could hear the relief flooding through their voices.
"Of course I'm ok, I'm the biggest man Tommyinnit!"
Tommy stated, squirming out of the hug and looking at them both happily.
"I'm fine now, I promise."
He said reassuringly, trying to calm down his brothers.
"What happened?"
Quackity asked after a moment of looking over Tommy.
He shrugged,
"I'm not sure myself, I'm preening your wings and the next thing I know I'm feeling a horrible pain in my back that just became worse."
Tommy explained, trying to wrack his brain for any logical reasons why this would happen.
He didn't need to though, because it dawned on Deo as soon as Tommy explained everything.
"Let me see your back."
Deo urged, and walked closer to Tommy, who flinched back but reminded himself where he was and who he was with. Then pulled off his shirt and turned around.
Deo let out a small gasp and so did Quackity,
"You..You have wings!"
Quackity excitedly exclaimed, stepping closer to Tommy to examine them.
It was a baby pair of black wings, with thick black feathers sprouting from them. They twitched a bit as Tommy filled with excitement,
"I have WINGS!?"
Tommy, more yelled then asked, as he scrambled out of his bed and to a mirror.
He turned around and saw the baby wings, that seemed to be getting bigger with every passing second.Tommy was correct with that statement, in under a hour he had huge wings that trailed behind him on the floor. They stayed black, the feathers were still slick but larger then before. He was so excited, and so happy that he had wings. Secretly he had always envied his family for their wings and wish that he had some of his own.
But one could argue the voices were just as happy as Tommy was.
'WINGINNIT!'
'POG WINGS!'
'EEEEEE'
'WINGSSSS'
'Icarus?'
'ICARUS'

Tommy stopped looking at his wings, he stopped everything and stared at the wall of the cave for a moment,
"Icarus?"
He muttered, the name sounded familiar.
'Oh!'
He thought as he remembered, his brother Techno, the only one in his old family that he still considered family, had taught him about Icarus. The one who flew too close to the sun, if he remembered correctly, which of course he did he was the great Tommyinnit of course.
Techno loved greek mythology and equally loved to teach Tommy about it, though he would never ever admit that, he loved Tommy a lot. He would defend him and get angry at Wilbur, or Philza for that matter, whenever they yelled at him. Sometimes he even refused to do his duty's until they apologized, though he knew that Tommy knew the apologies were forced so Tommy never really counted it but he still appreciated Techno doing that for him.
He also loved it when Techno would tell him about Greek mythology, though like Techno he would never admit that, he loved that someone took time out of their busy day to hang out with him.
Tommy and Techno had a secret spot; if they really needed to communicate without anyone knowing they would put notes in said secret spot.
The secret spot itself was a small secret hole in the wall that you had to push to make open behind a painting. Techno had actually made it when he was younger, and he was sure glad he did. Especially since before Tommy had left he had stuffed a farewell note that explained everything, he also promised to somehow either visit Techno or send him directions so he could visit them. He also knew that Techno would be ecstatic when he found out Tommy had wings.
Tommy smiled and went back to examine his wings, this was gonna be fun.Authors note:
Well, this chapter became super long, way longer then I intended but I really wanted to get into Techno's character and actually explain the wings instead of just throwing it in here. And I do feel like I accomplished just that. This whole thing before I added the note was 1,234 Words, I think at least. That is the longest chapter I have ever wrote! Also I may add a new chapter featuring Techno's POV! So keep a eye out for that! Anyways I'm signing out-Winter, your wonderful author
Authors note 2/13/23:
Hello again! I'm back and updating the chapters as you can see to fit my writing style. But for this chapter there wasn't much to change. Overall I really really like this chapter and I adore Techno's character so I decided not to change anything! I hope you enjoyed and as always have a wonderful day.Your author, Winter, signing off.
