A bandaged hand bumped into your shoulder lightly, bringing you back into reality as your (E/c) gaze locked onto familiar skaura grey ones belonging to Alienor. They almost glowed in the flickering light of the candle lit room, full of life and dreams but hindered by a battered and broken body. You couldn't help but blink in slight surprise as you raised a hand to rest on her fist.

(Y/n): Cool it there. We can train more when you can actually move.

Allie: If you're really going to go through with this you need to stay focused.

(Y/n): I'll just try to get picked up by one. It doesn't really matter to me as long as I'm a knight.

Allie: And if the one that picks you is the Silver Eagles?

(Y/n): Hah. Don't make me laugh. I wouldn't go to them if they were the last squad in the kingdom.

Allie: You can't think like that. They aren't bad people-

(Y/n): Allie, we can do this back and forth forever, but I just can't forgive them... not anytime soon at least.

The girl couldn't help but let out a sigh at your stubborn nature. But in truth, she was much more worried about you. In all of your years of growing up, you never once had a desire. No reason to leave home or travel. She recalled you mentioning being a scholar but it was only to follow her around. But as soon as she was injured you found yourself in a newfound crusade to become a knight. It was clear you had an objective in mind but despite being childhood friends you wouldn't tell her. Alienor let out a sigh before meeting your gaze once more.

Allie: Do you have any group in mind?

(Y/n): No... just as long as it's not the Silver Eagles I'm fine.

Allie: I should have expected that answer... But if you're seriously going to be a knight you have to do your best! I want to hear that you got picked for some of the best like the Crimson Lion Kings or the Golden Dawn!

(Y/n): N-Now you're just putting pressure on me...

Allie: I gave a hundred and ten percent on my examination so it's only fair you do so too!

(Y/n): Fine fine just stop moving around so much! You're still healing.

You pushed out of your seat and took a step closer to the girl's bed but she simply let out a tsk, laying her head back against her propped up pillows with a pout.

Allie: I can take care of myself, (Y/n). I need a best friend not a third parent.

(Y/n): Just being careful is all. You always seem to get into danger when I'm not looking...

The room went quiet for a moment as you made a awkward statement. You could feel the tension settle in as you tried to find some words to pierce through it.

(Y/n): I'll uh... go ahead and let you rest. I need to get ready to travel anyway.

Allie: Ok... but just so you know that day that I feel... it wasn't a bad one. Because you were there to save me~ And I know once you become a knight you will save a whole lot of other people too. So just do your best ok?

Your heart gave a strange thump in your chest as you simply nodded your head to the girl in a stunned silence. The statement was sort of... embaressing? Alienor said weird stuff all the time but you couldn't help but rub the back of your neck in a bashful manner.
