Long Lost Lovers

Before Summer (Janus' POV)

I woke up to my mom knocking on the door, I look at my phone. '7:30am? why is she waking me up so early?' I thought to myself before sitting up "Yeah?" I said and mom opened the door with a smile on her face "Hey honey, I made you some breakfast, it's in the kitchen whenever you're ready to eat it." 

I smiled at her and grabbed my phone "Thanks mom, I'll come down in a minute to get it." she smiled before shutting the door, I could hear her footsteps walking down the hall to her room. After a few minutes of checking my texts I got up. I walked over to my closet and pulled out jeans and a T-shirt. I get dressed then go downstairs to get the food mom made me. She made me french toast and bacon, my favorite. I went to the fridge and grabbed the syrup and butter.

After I finish my breakfast I text my friend to see if he wanted to hang out. He took about twenty minutes to respond but said yes when he did. "Hey mom?" I asked gently knocking on her door. "Yeah?" she asked sweetly and I opened her door "Do you know where my keys are? I'm gonna go pick Remy up." She set her puzzle book down and thought for a second "I think I saw them by the front door." I thanked her and walked back downstairs and to the front door.

I grabbed my keys, threw my shoes on and went out to my car. I got in and quickly picked a song and started driving to Remy's house which usually takes about ten minutes. I texted him I was there and waited. Like usual he started getting ready when I said I was already there so I had to wait twenty minutes for him before he finally came out.

"It's about time." I playfully punched his shoulder as he was putting his seatbelt on. "Yeah yeah" he said, rolling his eyes. I laughed and pulled out of his driveway we stopped by Mcdonalds "Hey, text Brooke and my mom for me see if they want anything" I handed my phone to Remy and he did what I asked. 

I pulled into the drivethru when they both answered and ordered all the food. "So didn't you say your mom wanted to go on a vacation?" Remy asked as we were pulling out "Yeah, but Brooke isn't sure if she wants to yet." I responded and started drinking my coffee "Do you want to?" Remy asked, eating his hashbrown.

I just shrugged "I dunno, being across the country for a whole summer sounds pretty scary. We don't know anyone there so I'd have to hang out with mom and Brooke all the time." Remy shrugged and reached to the backseat for his bag he keeps in my car "Who knows, you might meet someone while you're there." he dug through the bag and pulled out his sunglasses. "yeah, maybe" I responded "How would I even do that though. I only know how to make friends at like school and stuff." Remy laughed a bit "true true, you're very awkward."

I pulled in my driveway and we went inside "Mom, Brooke your stuff is in the kitchen!" I yelled to them and put their bags on the table. Brooke yelled thank you back as Remy and I went into my room. Remy got my snake out of her tank and sat on the floor with her, we decided to just play video games for a few hours.

Around 2:00pm Brooke knocked on my door "Hey, Remy." she said and gave him a casual fist bump "Me and your mom decided that we are probably gonna go to Florida. If you want to, of course." I looked over. I really don't know if I want to go or not, I mean I'd have to text my dad to tell him I wouldn't be visiting for the summer, I wouldn't be able to hang out with Remy. I just really don't know if it's worth it. 

"I'm not sure." I say after some silence "That's okay, you have time to think about it, summer doesn't start for two more months. Just give it a thought." she smiled "Thanks for the food, by the way I'll pay you back." she smiled and walked out, shutting the door. 

I take Remy home around 6:00pm and I take the longer way home so I can really think about everything that would come going to Florida this summer. Am I just overthinking it? I mean I could just stay with dad while Brooke and Mom go, they could use some time together alone. But I will really miss them I don't know if I go an entire summer not seeing them. But I would also really like staying with dad for awhile, when would I get an opportunity like this again?

I get home and go into my room to feed my snake before I get in the shower. If I left who would take care of her? Dad doesn't really know anything about snakes and Remy has a cat. I sigh and get in the shower.
