Rocky: Sonaaaaaa.. I'm here!
Reena closes the patient file and turns around to see Rocky walking towards her with open arms and a flower bouquet. She tells the nurse to keep an eye on the patient's vitals and steps out of the patient room. As he came close, she stops him by placing her hand on his chest.
Reena: For blood donation?
Rocky smiles and nodes likes school boy. She looks at the bouquet in his hand and asks,
Reena: What's this for?
Rocky: *shrugs* No reason..
Rocky slightly bows and extends his hand forward to give Reena the flowers. She takes them and smiles. The whiff of freshly cut flowers is overwhelming. She holds them close to her chest and says,
Reena: *signs* Tell me. What do you want?
Rocky: Nothing out of the deal. Take my blood and get to know me. That's aaalll!
Reena: Ummm.. I can't right now. I have a procedure scheduled in 20 minutes. Why don't you give your donation and I'll meet you after my operation?
Rocky: And you won't cheat, will you?
Reena: I don't think you'll let me even if I want to.
Rocky: Super clarity Sona. Finish your work and come quickly.
Reena: I'll hook you up and then go. Come
She takes him to a patient room. He has no idea why she's being this nice to him today. But just maintaining eye contact smiling and not getting frustrated over his antics is new. She hasn't tried to get rid of him or bang get head in frustration.
Reena: Come, sit here.
She pulls a chair seats across Rocky. She very seriously opens a new pack of blood draw kit and writes Rocky's name on the blood packet.
Rocky: *takes a seat* Oh by the way Sona. I got you another gift. 14 new patients admitted today.
Reena: *Folding his sleeve* 14? Wow. How?
Rocky: *Reena cleans the intended spot with spirit and ties a band* Actually on my way here I saw some goons beating up an old man. Normally I wouldn't care but I haven't had a cigarette or a drop of alcohol in a 2 days. So I thought I might as well do one more good thing before meeting you.
Reena: *inserts the needle* And?
Rocky: And? And I broke all 6 of them. They called another 8 idiots. I packed and parceled them to your hospital. That old man was so happy, in return he made this flower bouquet and gave to me.
Reena: *sarcastically* So you beat up 14 people to save an old man who happen to be a florist and there's not one scratch on you?
Rocky: Yes sona!
Reena gets up, ruffles Rocky's hair and says
Reena: I gotta go. I'll see you later.
Reena leaves the room with confused Rocky, alone with his thoughts. After a while the nurse comes in and says,
Nurse: Here, drink this fruit juice. Doctor's orders
Rocky: Hmm.. she took away my beer bottle.. taking my blood and now giving me a fruit juice in return? Em doctor oo!
Nurse: Hold this.
The nurse quickly sits beside Rocky and gets comfortable. She places palms on the arm rest and enthusiastically asks,
Nurse: So tell me, did she fall for you already?
Rocky: No idea... Do you think so?
Nurse: I still can't believe that such a sweet girl fell for a loafer fel..
Rocky: *sipping the fruit juice* Mmmm!!
Nurse: *puts her hands up in defense* I mean a lovely fellow... Just a few days ago she asked me to not let you in. But now she took the flowers, sat with you for the blood draw. I am very confused!!
Rocky: Same same. You know nurse-u.. this love nooo... it's beautiful.. Just this new feeling feels... you know... feels like umm..
Nurse: Like your blood is being drained.
Rocky: Ey nurse, even you started doing comedy with me aa?
Nurse: Me aa? Jokes aa? On you aa? Haawwww!
Rocky: Fine fine..
Nurse: Anyway it's time. The donation is complete. I'll add a bandaid. You can go then.
Rocky: No! Doctor asked me to stay. We will spend time after her procedure.
Nurse: *drops her jaw* What??
Rocky: *puts his glasses on* I'm too much.. I know.
Nurse: Poor girl da.. Please be gentle with her.
Rocky: I'm never known to be gentle but I'll try.
Nurse: Karma karma! Anyway, stay here only. She'll be done in an hour.
Rocky: Fine. You go now. I'll close my eyes and have a dream song with my doctor.
Nurse leaves. An hour passes by. Rocky is woken up by Reena.
Reena: Ayooo, I'm so sorry. You must be hungry now. Come we'll go out.
