Hello everyone, thank you all for the reads. I would like to apologize for my absents, I was off on a graduation trip and personal family issues, so I didn't get the time to write, that being said.

I know I have been doing a lot, and I mean a lot of iceman stories. What can I say he has my heart, but I will get back writing the others after this one. This story was supposed to be part of the previous one, it just didn't feel right so I scraped it. However I like the idea of this so I decided to make it into its own story. I apologize in advance if this is to similar to the last.

In the new top gun:maverick you see Tom with a family and it looks like he lived a full life and in the original you see his soft side so that's why I've been making him a softy. Especially in the last one he was vulnerable. Also I'm sorry if the last one seemed incoherent and moved fast and unrealistic, but Tom and y/n had a previous past that's why I wrote it that way because sometimes when your that close to someone and you fall off for a bit you can bounce right back.

!!THIS STORY IS NOT RELATED TO THE PERVIOUS IT IS ITS STORY!!

I laughed as I ran my hardest through the backyard Tom right behind me. He was bound and determined he was gonna throw me in the pool.

I ran through the sprinkler trying to get to the porch but he was to fast. He wasn't the running back for nothing. He hoisted me up over his shoulder and I couldn't stop laughing.

"Tommy put me down" I managed to say through my laughs "nope your going in" he said in a matter o fact tone. "You two be carful the little ones are still in the pool" Ms. Kazansky called. "Yes ma'am" Tom called out, before I could protest any further he tossed me in the deep end and I let out a yelp before hitting the water along with hearing a 'woo' from Tom and a splash.

I soon surfaced, Tom popping up in-front of me a big grin on his face which I couldn't help but return and I bursted out laughing.

"Lunch is on" our moms called out. To that we got back out and made our way over to the patio, our moms held out towels for our siblings. Tom grabbed a towel and wrapped it around me, smoothing my hair out of my face. "Thank you Tommy" I smiled and sat down at the table to eat.

"Ready for your last season Tom" my dad asked. " No sir not really, imma miss it if I'm being honest" "oh come on with your stats you could play college ball" "I keep telling him that myself ... it's a losing battle y/d/n" Mr Kazansky said shaking his head.

"What about you y/n, are you excited for senior year .. you know proms this year" Ms Kazansky asked "yes ma'am, but like Tom said imma miss it .. I think I'm going to make senior year count the most" "and she's already planning for prom" my mom added
"Is that so, what are your colors?" Ms Kazansky asked sipping her Long Island ice tea "I have decided to go with a y/f/c dress and silver jewelry" I answered with a smile. "And your date" She asked with a raised eyebrow a somewhat mischievous look as well. I laughed " I'm not sure of that just yet" "just go with Tom" my dad said digging his fork into a piece of stake "that way I know your safe" he added before chopping down on the meat, to that our moms perked up. "Yes that would be a perfect idea" my mom said with a big smile. I looked over to Tom who was somewhat wide eyed. Neither of us were gonna hear the end of this if we didn't go together, But that's his choice of who he asks. "We'll see I guess" I said with a soft shrug eating a French Frye.

I plopped down on Toms bed exhausted. "Gymnastics is kicking my ass this year" I sighed. "Yeah well try running all practice non stop on top of the fact that it rained today" he responded sitting our bags down then sat on the edge of the bed "I swear these stupid sophomores are killing us. I don't think we're going to state" he said taking my shoes off and massaging my feet. I hummed at his action "don't say that, your captain this year so bring everyone together and have a pep talk, then if they don't get it rally your juniors and seniors together and you all talk to the sophomores together " he sighed "maybe.... Hopefully it works" he moved his hands up my calves.
