9. I Missed You

"Surprise?" You said in disbelief and anger. "That's all you have to say!" You eyes turned blue.
"Y/N. Calm down." Stephen said. You chuckled.
"Calm down." You shouted. "You have some audacity Stephen Strange. Showing up here with not even a so..." You were interrupted by a kiss. "What the fuck was that." You shouted, your eyes going a brighter and brighter blue as if you were a bomb about to explode.
"Please, let me explain." Stephen begged, tears in his eyes. Guilt washed over you.  "So after I left, I felt numb. I couldn't feel anything emotionally. So I spent weeks in the astral dimension. I would look over you most days." He said emotionally.
"Yeah I know. I could sense you." You said, tears in your eyes as well, smiling subtly.
"And I was so scared to come and say 'sorry' to you because I thought you would hate me and never wanted to see me again, or even to have my name be mentioned. All I wanted to do in our time apart was to kiss you until we couldn't breath and to go and slush puppies and come back and act like we didn't know why our tongues were purple." He chuckled. You chuckled as well. "Wanda sent me a very threatening text and that was what sent me over the edge to come and see you instead of sending some shitty apology message." He said, a tear falling down his face.  You laughed again.
"I was wondering who she was texting." You chuckled. "She looked really angry while sending it too." Stephen chuckled.
"So are we good?" He asked.
"We're better than good." You said immediately kissing him.  "We're going to get ice cream. Do you want to join?" You asked him.
"Of course I do." He said. "But, it depends what flavour?" "If it's salted caramel then 100%." He started. "Anything else..." He wags his finger. "No." Stephen finished.
"I don't know, today is full of surprises." You said. "So who knows, we could not even be going to an ice cream parlour." You laughed. Stephen laughed. You guys made eye contact. You stared into each other's eyes for a good ten seconds. Not saying anything. Not moving. But you felt at home. "Are you guys done yet?" Wanda shouted down the alley. "I want to go and get ice cream."
"Yes alright." You said huffing. "She has to interrupt at the worst moments." You said walking off. Suddenly, Stephen grabbed your arm and put his through yours.

"You really need to work on your timing." You said to Wanda, as you walked out of the alley.
"Did I do it again?" She said, gasping her mouth. Stephen raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry."
"Again?" Stephen said. "When did it happen before?"
"You know when we were playing seven minutes?" You smiled, remembering that night. Stephen smiled too. "I was going to tell you I liked you but then Wanda opened the door."
"Yeah. Sorry." Wanda said.
"No need to say 'sorry'." Stephen said. "We should be thanking you for bringing us back together." Stephen said, smiling. Your heart warmed hearing these words.
"Right time for ice cream." Wanda said, walking off.
"Yeah yeah alright." You said, dragging Stephen along with you as his arm was still in yours.

You three were sitting in the tree house that Tony made for you when you where a boy. You had taken some spoons from the kitchen and sat up there all eating your ice cream. "So who thinks that Nat will kill Stephen as soon as he steps foot inside the building." You said. You all raised your hand. You all laughed.
"Ow!" Stephen said, clutching the bridge of his nose.
"What's wrong?" Wanda asked.
"Brain freeze." He said, still clutching the bridge of his nose.
"I can help." You said. You out your hand and touched his forehead. You sent a energy pulse through your hand and to his forehead.
"Woah. How did you do that?" Stephen said.
"Wanda's powers and mine look similar but they aren't the same." You said. You then realised. "Well they are the same but I have additional abilities. That one was heat manipulation." You said.
"HEAT MANIPULATION!" They both said.
"You powers are actually so much cooler than mine." Wanda said.
"Yeah. But you're stronger than me." You said.
"You've got that right." Wanda replied, doing a Beyoncé hair flip. You all laughed. You phone began to ring. It was Nat.
"Hey Nat." You said. You saw Stephen start to get slightly scared.
"Hi, how's your day been?" She asked.
"Yeah, it's been fun. We went to the arcade and then we went to get ice cream." You said.
"It sounds like you had a nice day." She said. You could tell that she was smiling. "Where are you, by the way?" She said.
"In the tree house." You said.
"Wow been a long time since you've been in there. Alright don't stay out too long, see you soon." Nat said.

After half an hour of talking there was a knock at the hatch of the treehouse. "Who is it?" You exclaimed.
"It's Nat." You heard Nat say. Stephen started to panic.
"Hey, it's alright okay. I'll calm her down."You said. He didn't calm down but he believed you. "Come in!" You shouted. Stephen prepared himself. Nat opened the hatch. She saw Strange sitting on the beanbag. Her jaw dropped.  "Okay before you kill him let me explain." You said. You were interrupted by Nat storming past you and hugging Stephen.
"Thank you so much." She whispered in his ear.
"Your welcome?" He said, confused. "But 'thank you' for the what?"
"For coming back." She whispered again.
"No problem." He laughed. "But you can thank Wanda for that. She sent me a text that was threatening but pushed edge to come and apologise." He said, turning to you, smiling. Nat turned to Wanda.
"Thank you Wanda." She said.
"What can I say, I'm very persuasive." Wanda said, laughing.
"Well anyway." You said shaking off what just happened. "We're are up here just chatting and eating ice cream, wanna join?" You asked Nat.
"Yeah, why not?" She said. She sat on the last remaining bean-bag.

After 2 hours of playing Mario Kart, you were all fighting to keep your eyes open. You had fallen asleep half way through a race but still got first. "You guys...all suck at this game." You said yawning mid-sentence.
"Right, before I break this controller because of anger and tiredness of coming last." Nat said. "I am going to sleep."
"Me too." Wanda said.
"Yeah let's go to bed too." You said turning to Stephen. "Stephen?" He was zoned. You clapped.
"Huh, what?" He said.
"You were in a world of you own there." You said sniggering.
"I think I had started to fall asleep." He said.
"Yeah, no shit." Wanda said. You all laughed.

You turned off the lights, climb down the hatch and stumbled across the grass and up to the door. Nat opened the door quietly and you all had to sneak in. You all thought you were being so quiet, but you were in fact knocking over almost everything you guys walked past. You had finally reached your rooms after being 'quiet'. "Night." You all said to each other. Stephen followed you. "Just like old times." You said smiling.
"Yes indeed." He said. You had gotten into bed and snuggled up.

No matter how tired you two were, you would always have night time talks. After 30 minutes of talking, you were finally ready to actually go to sleep. Stephen kissed you on your temple. "I've missed you." He said.
"I missed you more." You said kissing him. The last you remember was staring into his eyes realising that he was back.
