A New Love Story

Cora could not believe her foster mother is in the hospital after being shot by one of her clients "why would they shoot her?" says Cora's "I don't know" says Peter as they were in the waiting room in the hospital waiting on news about Hannah when her surgeon came out and said, " we were able to remove the bullet from her but due to where she got shot it has led to permanent damage to her spine".

After receiving the good news that Hannah survived and they were able to go in and see her but Cora was unable to go in " You can stay out here" Peter says to Cora while trying to hold back tears and Cora just nodded and just stayed in her chair. An hour had passed and Peter was still in Hannah's room when Cora sees Sam coming toward her "I heard what happened I'm sorry" he says to Cora while sitting down in the next chair beside her.

"How did you find out?" says Cora " my dad is working the case and I was here at the hospital when your mother came in and saw your father...." Sam says but not finishing what he was going to say when Cora cut in " they are my foster parents " Sam was in pure shock of what Cora had just said " I don't understand," Sam says to Cora " I'm in the foster care system," Cora's  says to Sam.

They kept on chatting when Cora sees Zac run to Cora and ask "how's mom?" he asks Cora who responds "they removed the bullet from her back but due to where she got shot it has led to permanent damage to her spine". Zac was in absolute shock about what just happened to his mother " hey man she'll be alright" Sam says to Zac " Cora why is the Captain of the boy's football team here at the hospital?" Zac asks Cora confused about why Sam Puckett is here at the hospital.

"my dad is working the case and I was here at the hospital when your mother came in and saw your father...." Sam says but not finishing what he was going to say when Zac cuts in and says " look dude this is a private matter for my family so I suggest you leave now" and Sam just nods and walks over to Cora and hugs her and leaves.

Two days have passed and Cora was able to go back to school after having some time to be with Hannah and help her feel better "here's breakfast" Zac says to Cora handing her the cereal bowl that is filled with her favourite cereal " thanks" Cora says to Zac who was already done his breakfast and Cora finishing hers not long after Zac gave it to her and went over to the sink to wash her bowl and go overs and grabs an Omega 3 and heads to school.

It was lunchtime and she couldn't stop thinking about the kiss from the other day, and people were staring at her and wouldn't stop staring and it was getting on Cora's nerve and she wanted to do something right away but unfortunately, some teachers came in and followed by the teachers was Sam who walked over to Cora who just got up and walked away not wanting to talk to him. Cora was trying to get away from Sam when she was stopped by two girls who made fun of her, and that's when she felt something hit her in the face, which she felt again and again until it stopped, then she got up and rushed out of the cafeteria.

"Hey, slow down," Sam says as he grabs Cora's hand. "Leave me alone," Cora says, but Sam wouldn't let go of Cora's arm. "Look, we need to talk about everything," he says to Cora. "I can't right now because I have my third and fourth-period classes to attend to, so now isn't the best time," Cora says to Sam, who eventually lets go of Cora's arm and watches Cora  in her final period of the day when she heard a knock on the door, and she saw Zac. "What does he want?" Cora says to herself.

"Look Cora, um dad received a call from mom's doctor saying they need the whole family," Zac says to his foster sister. "Okay, let me just gather my things," Cora adds to Zac, who simply nods and waits outside of Cora's classroom. "Is everything all right?" Sam asks Cora, who had returned to her desk, but she simply ignored him and exited the classroom and walked down to the office seeing Peter waiting in a chair reading a book that looked very boring and something that Cora wouldn't want to read in her entire life.

"So there have been some improvements to her existing health," adds the doctor, "what kind of improvements?" Zac asks the doctor, who did not respond right away but continued to speak. Cora couldn't remain still after hearing the news, so she stood up and went away from everyone, but she came to a halt when she ran into someone she didn't want to see. "Are you stalking me now?" Cora asked Sam who shakes his head no. "Then why are you here when I'm in the hospital?" Cora questions Sam once more.

"I volunteer here at the hospital after school," Sam explains to Cora, who doesn't believe Sam is telling the truth and simply nods. They talked for a bit, and then something remarkable happened: they kissed again, and this time it felt even better than the first. The kiss lasted probably 3 minutes when Cora stopped "look I got to go be with my family I'll talk to you later" Cora says to Sam as she stands up and heads back to the others.

It was time to go home after visiting with Hannah for a little while, but Cora didn't want to leave; she wanted to stay at the hospital and be by Hannah's bedside, so she tried to persuade Peter to let her stay because she knew he needed to go home and get some sleep. After all, he looked exhausted, as did Zac, and after a brief thought, Peter agreed to let Cora stay at the hospital because he knew Cora was correct and that he was exhausted and needed some proper sleep.

Cora never left Hannah's side that night, and she did everything she could to let Hannah know she was there and would not leave. Cora was about to fall asleep when she heard something. "Water," a voice murmured aloud. Cora thought she was hallucinating it until she heard it again and saw Hannah opening her eyes. "Hannah, everything is OK. Just relax. I'm going to fetch your doctor," Cora says to Hannah.

After a few days, it was time for Hannah to return home, so Cora decided to make the house look amazing. She tried to enlist Zac's help, but all he did was sit in a chair and talk on his phone, so it was up to Cora when she heard a knock on the door and saw Sam holding some bags, so she opened the door and smiled back at him and let him in.

While they waited for Peter and Hannah to get home, the bright sun shined down on Sam and Cora, who were huddled together outside."Hey, I was thinking when your foster mom gets better, I could take you out for dinner sometime, how does that sound?" Sam said as they lay down together and of course, Cora just nods.

"Guess who's home," Peter says hollering from the front of the house " Hey mom and dad," Zac says hugging his parents "where's Cora" Hannah questions her son "outside with Sam" Zac answers his mother " who's Sam?" Hannah questions Zac once more " he's a boy from school," Zac says to his mother " did they kiss yet?" Hannah questions her husband and her son " okay missy I think you still have anesthesia in you" Peter says to his wife laughing " Twice" Zac replies back to his mother " Huh?" Peter says out loud "they kissed twice" Zac replies to his father and turns to his mother who begins to blush.

"So there's something we want to talk about," Peter begins, handing Cora a thick envelope. "Is this the reason you were late?" Zac inquires of his father. "Well, yes, and there was also traffic," Hannah says instead of her husband. 

For at least 5 minutes Cora didn't know if she should open it or leave the envelope closed "open it" Peter says as he notices Cora staring at it for a few minutes.

Cora began to read it and she just stopped when she red the bolded word Adoption and she asked peter " what does this mean?"and peter replied " it means you can call us mom and dad" and after hearing what  was just said she got up and ran and hugged Peter and Hannah that she can now call Mom and Dad.
