Welcome To My World

Amor and I had planned out our weekend perfectly. We'd go the the cryptid world, stay with Amor's sister, and Amor would show me some of the sights. Oh, yeah, and Amor has an older sister! Her name is Rhetta and she's 28 in human years. Apparently cryptid years are just human years plus 2. That makes Rhetta 30 in cryptid years, and Amor 25 in cryptid years. Also, in cryptid years, I'm 21 years old. And Allison is 23. I just thought that was neat.
"Okay, we're all packed up. Ready?" Amor asked me.
"Yup! Let's go!" I grabbed my backpack and tote bag. "How do we get there?"
"Look at this." She reached into her shirt and pulled out a necklace. A golden eye pendent was on the end.
"Here, grab my hand. We need to have direct skin to skin contact to both be transported." She held out her hand. I grabbed it. Her hands were cold again, as they always were. She took the eye pendent and pressed the pupil button. Everything felt all weird. Like, zero gravity. Within a blink, we were in a whole diffent place. It looked like an airport, exept very different. As I looked around, I noticed the cryptids. Vampires, werewolves, centaurs, harpys, witches, and so many more. They all walked around us, living out their lives. I was full on starstruck.
"Welcome to my world." Amor took a deep breath. "Let's get a bite before we head off."
"Okay. Do we go into the bathroom or?" I asked.
"Oh, no. We don't have to do that." She started walking to some vending machines, giving my hand a squeeze. I looked outside through a window, and the sky was blood red.
The vending machine was full of stuff I didn't recognize. Amor pressed the buttons for B1, a bottle of red liquid labeled as 'Faux Hemo'. I put two and two together and figured it was artificial hemoglobin, otherwise known as fake blood.
As we walked to the bus station, Amor drank the Faux Hemo. I was starry eyed, looking around the city. The grass was a warm shade of violet, all the other plants that are green in the human world were purple as well.
"Now that I've gotten used to your blood, this stuff tastes weird." She said as we waited on the bench. "Yours is sweeter. And thinner." She took another gulp.
"Thank you?" I sat pretty stiff. Seeing all the cryptids walk by made me feel painfully out of place. I squeezed Amor's hand a little tighter. She hadn't let go of my hand since we got there, luckily.
"So, first, I think we should visit this huge swing. It's awesome." She showed me a picture on her phone of a swing with a werewolf on it. The swing was, in fact, huge.
"Okay, but shouldn't we stop by your sister's house and get settled in?" I asked.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry, I'm just really excited." She chuckled awkwardly.
"I am too." I said. And I was, I was ecstatic. The bus pulled up a little later. It looked just like a human world bus.
The bus was almost empty, and whatever cryptids were on the bus were avoiding us. I guess humans are easy to spot.
Rhetta lives alone in a little cottage. Or, that's what we thought. We walked through the door and there were two girls making out on the couch. I figured out which one was Rhetta right away. She looked just like Amor. Except Rhetta had shorter hair.
"Hey Rhett. Hey Rhett's girlfriend." Amor sighed, very visably annoyed.
"Um, hi. I'm Terra." Said the other girl. She had little horns sticking out of her head and hooves for feet. A satyr. Rhetta, who was wearing a half buttoned up light green shirt, stood up quickly.
"Heyy, Amor.." She started to rebutton her shirt. "And Lamb? Amy's been texting me all about you."
"Oh, it's Lamia. Amor jus-" I started.
"I'm the only one who calls her Lamb." Amor interupted.
"Oh, I see. It's a pet name. Cute." Rhetta held out her hand to me. I sat down my tote bag and grabbed her hand, ready to shake it.
"Oh, no. I just wanted to take your bag." She motioned to my bag on the ground.
"Uh, yeah... Of course.." I felt my face get hot. I reached down and grabbed the bag. I felt crippling shame as I gave it to her.
"Welcome to the cryptid world, human." She slung my bag over her shoulder. She had the same sly grin as Amor.
