Madison POV
It's that time of the year again. April 5th, my birthday, aka one of the two days my parents come to visit me. I hate it, they come in and pretend like everything is alright. I used to love my birthday. I used to love just all birthdays in general. Now it's just a day when my parents feel obligated to visit me and the nurses try to be extra sweet. I should probably stop writing because my parents'll be here any minute. So, bye I guess.
I close my diary and go sit on my bed. I hear a knock on the door and Harry walks trough the door with a birthday cake in his hands.
"Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Maddie, happy birthday to you" , Harry walks over whilst singing.
He sits down next to me and hands me the cake.
"Sorry there are't any candles. They said I could give you a cake under one condition. No candles. Happy Birthday Maddie." Harry smiles at me. I smile back and take the cake.
Harry stands up and walks to the door.
"Wait," Harry turns around with a surprised look on his face, "do you want a piece?"
Did I really just speak?
"Uhm, sure." Harry smiles and walks back over to me.
We go sit at the table and take a piece of precut-cake.
After we finished our pieces, Harry stood up and said he had to go see the other patients. I smiled at him as he walked out of my room.
I just spoke for the first time in years.
Madison finally spoke :)
