Tri Wizards Tournament Has Begun

Pansy and Draco were about to say something when Dumbledore began to speak.

*this next part isn't the same as the movies because I forgot to add the whole tri-Wizard tournament at the beginning of the book 🤦🏻‍♀️ so please just go with it. It will go back to following the movies timeline*

Dumbledore " As you all know three other schools will be joining us tonight. They could not join us earlier this week due to weather delaying their travels."
I had almost completely forgot about tri wizards tournament. The last few days had been so busy, especially with last night.
Dumbledore "Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event, The Tri-Wizards Tournament. Now for those of you that do not know the tournament brings together 3 schools for a series of magical contests. For each school a single student is selected to compete. Let me be clear, if you are chosen you stand alone, and trust me when I say these contests are not for the faint-hearted. We will discuss more of that later. For now please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy and their headmistress Madame Maxime!"
Just as Dumbledore finished his sentence the great hall doors swing open and a bunch of girls in blue dresses start dancing in. Honestly I thought they looked quite ridiculous. They would walk a few steps then away to one side. That process repeated until they were at the end of the great hall. Most of the boys were basically drooling, but Mattheo never even turned to look at them.
Dumbledore "And now our friends from the north. Please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang! And their headmaster Igor Karkaroff"
A group of boys walked in banging staffs around on the floor. I didn't pay any attention to them. I was to busy laughing at how Pansy was staring at them. After a minute they reached the end of the hall and stood beside the Beauxbatons girls.
Dumbledore "now, The goblet of Fire! Whichever student wins this tournament will gain eternal glory, but first the student must survive 3 extremely dangerous tasks. For this reason the ministry seemed it fit for some new rules. To explain all this I would like to welcome the head of the department of international magic Mr. Bartemius Crouch."
Mr. Crouch "after due consideration the ministry and concluded that for their own safety no student under the age of 17 should be able to put forth their name for the tri wizard tournament. This decision is final."
The room erupts into complaints. I was only 15 so they takes me out of the picture. Not that I wanted to compete anyways, but I think I would have done rather well.
Dumbledore "SILENCE"
He walks up to a gold tower and touched his wand to the top of it. The gold disappears and reveals a goblet with blue flames coming out of it.
Dumbledore "The Goblet of Fire, anyone wishing to submit themselves to the tournament need only write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it in the flame before this hour on Thursday night. Do not do so lightly! If chosen, there's no turning back.As from this moment the tri wizard tournament has begun"
Pansy "well that's a shame, you would've done so good"
"Trust me, I want no part of the tournament"
Pansy "ugh your no fun"
Draco smiled and looked down
"You don't think I'm fun?!"
Draco "nope"
And with that we all started laughing. Before long it was time to head back to our dorms. Pansy and I walked together as usual and Mattheo walked a bit behind us. We reached the stairs where she would go down and I would go up.
Pansy "I'll see you at breakfast?"
"Ofc!"
With that I walked up the stairs. I was about to walk in my room when I saw mattheo. He smiled at me.
Mattheo "I gotta say I wasn't expecting you to do that to Collin. I mean I thought you might slap him or something"
" he deserved it"
Mattheo "well goodnight y/n"
"Night Mattheo"
Mattheo "you can call me Theo"
"Goodnight Theo"
I smiled and walked into my room. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all.
