15 - If he's like that, then I'm not interested

POV Elizabeth Jacobs

I looked at Sebastian, he nodded and called someone.

"Hey man, do you want to keep me company today? I'm guarding Suzy and Lizzy today?" ... "Okay, I'll pick you up in 5."

"Let's go ladies. And thanks for this." He said and he drove to the same apartment as Julia and Ana.

Someone was already outside waiting on crutches.

"James?" I yelled surprised and jumped out of the car "How is your leg?" giving him a side hug.

"Lizzy, long time no see. But I am glad to see you. I still need to thank you for your help that evening." James exclaimed.

I waved him away, "No, need to thank me, James. Everyone would have done that."

"We all know that that's not true Lizzy."

We helped James in the car and finally drove to Suzy's house. James and Sebastian settled down on the front porch with some fresh coffee and a couple off biscuits that Suzy found in a cabinet.

We entered her bedroom. "So, Suzy, you're going to sit on the bed. You may order me around and tell me what I need to take with us. But first where are the suitcases?"

She pointed out everything for me and soon we had 2 full suitcases. I brought these to Sebastian so he could put them in the car.

Then we started taking photos in every room. On scraps of paper Suzy started writing down some memories. Most of them were happy ones, some sad ones and even an embarrassing one.

There was one room left, and when we stood before the door, she told me that it was his office.

"It's strange Lizzy, but since the day he died I never entered this room. He closed the door before he left. I always thought it would be our room, the bed that would be too hard to enter. But it's this room. Maybe because we spent a lot of time here togheter. I reading a book on the couch, and he was working behind his desk. In this room I told him that I was pregnant. In this room he asked me to give Aiden a chance. We shared so much in there, it scares me. And maybe I am also scared for what I am going to find there."
I hugged her and then she added "I know that he worked for Lorenzo." She whispered in one breath.

Unwrapping myself from our hug, I whispered back "You knew he worked for Lorenzo?"

"Yes, I heard him one day one the phone. I was home early and his door was ajar. He was in a meeting with Matteo, Marco and Lorenzo. So, I confronted him, and he told me what he could tell me." Suzy said

"But Aiden and Lorenzo think that you don't know." I was surprised that she was so calm.

"Chris never told them, and a month later he died, so... But today I would like to enter this room. I have the feeling that I am ready. I need this to proceed in my grieving." Suzy said brave

"I am her with you, and you are very brave. It's a huge step." I assured her

She stood in front of the door her hand on the door handle. She blew out some air and stood tall. Slowly she pushed the door open. It was a beautiful room. She took a seat behind his desk. The entire office was very clean.
