As the two boys ran through the woods they stopped when the house was no longer visible. Arlo had a lot of questions to ask but Eni completely ignored him.

"Eni answer me dammit! What the fuck were you doing in the basement?!?"

The dark haired boy stayed quiet, looking at the ground ready to faint yet again. But the tug of his shirt snapped him to reality. Arlo pinned him against a nearby tree, tears rolling down his eyes as he began yelling at him, asking him questions like "why were you here" or "why didn't you tell father" and that's when Eni snapped causing him to push Arlo off and onto the ground while trying his best to not attack him or cause any noise.

"If.. you talk about your father again I won't hesitate killing you".

Arlo was shocked from these words. The person that was so nice to him suddenly threatening him? No this wasn't right. They had to find a way out of here first and then try to find a place to stay for a while before going back.

But that's what Arlo thought.

Eni didn't want to go back. He knew what Dante was capable of and he knew that if he went back his fate would be sealed so he helped Arlo up and hugged him as an apology.

Arlo sighed and guided the both of them through the forest to a nearby highway leading to the nearby city.

Eni had never seen the city before and he felt excited about going there until Arlo suggested they'd hitchhike there. Eni didn't like that one bit but he felt safe around Arlo for some odd reason so he agreed and they tried to wait for cars to pass by.

Suddenly a car stopped in front of them and they got in telling the man that they wanted to go to the city. The man smiled and agreed and after some time they were both dropped at the already empty streets. Arlo looked around for any sign that could lead them somewhere to stay but he realised that something was missing.

Food.

Eni was already starting to feel hungry and Arlo tried to find a place to go to get anything to ease their starvation.

As this was going on, some mice were trying to find their own food on the city. Eni noticed them and continued looking at Arlo until he was out of sight.

He couldn't continue with an empty stomach so he grabbed one of the mice and held it in his hands. He looked back at the direction Arlo headed and quickly crushed the small mouse eating it almost instantly.

He felt better after that but he couldn't care less about the blood on his hand and sleeve. When he went after Arlo and they saw eachother Arlo again had to ask the questions involving the bloody sleeve.

Eni quickly thought of a lie and told him he had been hurt somewhere in the house while breaking the glass.

"If that's what happened then we have to get something to clean the wound"

"Great".

Eni thought. He had to keep his hunger a secret from Arlo if he wanted to find somewhere to sleep for the night and the fact that Arlo wasn't aware of the situation made it difficult.

It's just one night how bad can it go?
