Luke's footsteps echoed through the empty hall, everyone was going home and he was making his way to the music clubroom. Going to the music room each day was usual, but today felt odd as he wasn't walking with his friend, Zander. He would always wait for Zander to exit the classroom but today he wouldn't dare.
Lately Luke's feelings towards his friend have been building up a-lot, he's always been able to tolerate the thoughts of them together but ever since he saw some girl 'flirting' (according to Luke) with Zander, something ruptured inside him, jealousy? envy? He didn't want to be jealous but he can't help it, he doesn't want Zander to catch on so this has led to him boycotting himself from his friend, to not ruin their friendship.

"ow!" Luke banged his head on the door of the music room as he wasn't looking where he was going. Luke huffed and placed his hand on the door handle, opening the door to see all the others, including Zander, Luke was confused on how Zander got there quicker than him but to be fair Luke did walk the long way. When Luke scanned his eyes across the room, he noticed Milly and zander causing a commotion.
"nobody else except for you in this club can stand your stupid classical fancy music!" Milly shouted, making sure everyone could hear.
"actually Milly, its not stupid! it has a-lot of history behind it!- oh! Luke! you gotta agree with me on this!"
Luke didn't know what to say, should he agree with zander or with Milly? "oh- erm-"
"guys stop annoying us! I said we could try and fit the music genres you want in there!" It must have been Luke's lucky day because Hailey spoke right on time. This made Luke calm down, unclenching his hands. As everyone sat down in their places, Jake and Hailey started singing. Luke didn't exactly know what the song was about as he was in his own mind, he had the rhythm of the way to drum to the song so he could play the drums while he's in his own little world. While he was daydreaming, he didn't realise he was just staring at zander and even after the song ended. he only realised he was staring after Zander had to forcefully cough multiple times for Luke to realise how creepy he was acting. As soon as he realised, his brain went into overdrive. his face turned a shade of pink and he flung himself backwards off his chair which resulted in him falling onto the floor. when he fell, everyone looked at him, did he make a fool out of himself? yes. Was it smart? no.
"Luke! Are you okay?" Sean asked in concern, everyone started asking too but he didn't answer, all he was thinking about was Zander. Does he really need to ignore his friend because of some little petty crush? Luke snapped out of his thoughts and stood up, he rubbed his head and laughed a little bit to show he was fine. him falling backwards might have not been the best idea because the whole time he was in the room he was feeling dizzy and light-headed. Hailey let Luke take time to sit outside for a breather, Luke wouldn't have taken it but decided to take the offer so he could get away from Zander.
Unfortunately for Luke, he was met with Zander walking out of the room a couple minutes later. Luke sighed and wished Hailey could show mercy again but he knew she wouldn't so he would have to accept defeat right now.
"erm Luke? what was that all about?" Zander asked in a confused manner, the auburn boy tried to look anywhere but at the shorter boy's eyes. Zander however, didn't let up, he stood in-front of Luke with a confused look on his face. Luke finally gave in, he thought if he was rude zander would maybe just think he's tired and leave him alone.
"no offence but can you go away? I'm just a bit tired right now and you're making my head hurt." Luke had a plain face but inside he had a mixture of emotions. He was happy he came off a bit rude but he did have that bit of guilt lurking inside.
"oh. well uhm, i hope you get a better sleep tonight? I don't really know what to say- oh right. I'll need to go before I hurt your head more." Zanders words sounded innocent but the auburn haired boy could hint the sourness in them. Luke decided to wait a while before going in, when he did end up going in, everyone was getting their bags.
Luke decided to try and be cheerful for the others while speaking, as much as he wanted to get away from Zander he still felt that tiny bit of guilt lingering. "Sorry for taking too long guys!" Everyone just said it's fine except Zander, Zander just gave a quick glance at Luke then went back to gathering his things. it's not like Luke didn't expect Zander to act that way though, Zander would always get hurt easily and be rude about it but Luke was fine with it, anyway, he has flaws too.
when everyone scattered from the room, it was just him and Zander. Zander was giving a quick clean of his piano and Luke was getting his drumsticks. he heard a mumble from Zander then the violet haired boy started speaking.
"hey, Luke? wait outside for me i'll only be a minute!" Zander spoke cordially. Luke looked at the, now happy, Zander. Luke just nodded his head which gave zander a smile on his face. As Luke stood outside, he didn't know what to do. He agreed to waiting and walking home with Zander but.. would it be best for them? he was meant to be ignoring the boy, not walking home with him. After thinking, Luke took a breath and started walking around the corner, he stood there patiently.
After a minute, he heard the music club door open. Luke peaked around the corner to see Zander looking around with a sort of dim light in his eyes.
"Luke?"
"Where are you?"
"Oh, he left."
The boy felt terrible, hearing his friend feel betrayed made him rethink his choices. Were these really good choices he should be making? leaving his friend? Even though he was thinking, he had to start walking home, so he made his way. not listening to the voice calling his name, trying to find him.

As Zander exited the school, he couldn't help but feel lonely. He felt like his best friend was ignoring him and he doesn't know why. why? That was the one question he kept asking as walked through the cold, crisp air. He would normally walk home with Hailey and Luke, but lately Hailey has been walking with Jake to his house which left Luke and Zander. but Luke not being by his side made him feel lonely, isolated. but surely he was just being stupid? He was just walking home alone. it's nothing bad, it's not like Luke was purposely abandoning him, he probably just forgot to stay at the door. Maybe he had an emergency. He hoped at least.

aghh hii this is my first fanfic so sorry if it's a bit bad! Also sorry if there are any spelling errors! also, i tried making luke nice from his pov like yk not wanting to ruin his friendship and not wanting to hurt zander but idk if he sounds mean still :,> i'm gonna try and make him sound a bit nicer next chapter and try and include the others more and their relationships!
