I stood at the airport for a good ten minutes trying to get even one cab to notice me. I picked my suitcase up along with my carry on and tried to haul a cab again. Apparently it's not the same as New York. Finally a bright yellow cab pulled up in front of me. I smiled slightly as I thought how the cabs from New York look the same here too.
I walked up to the window and asked if he was free. The cab driver nodded his head then gestured for me to get in.
The cab driver came out and gave me a hand with the bags and put them in the trunk.
"Thanks" I said politely.
"No problem."
I got into the backseat of the cab and waited as driver got into the driver's seat.
When he got in, he looked at me through the rear view mirror for a moment then spoke.
"So where are you heading today?" The cab driver said.
I took out the piece of paper I was holding and unfolded it.
"Uh I'm going to 44-5698 crescent drive.
"Okay. He tapped the the address into his GPS, and starting driving.
Once we got onto the main road, I was instantly fascinated with all the beautiful palm trees and beautiful flowers. Something I obviously don't see in New York. With all that happened I didn't get the time to actually see all the beautiful things California had to offer.

The sun was setting and I'm still driving to the destination."We should be there in five minutes." said the cab driver said.
He was right, about five minutes later we pulled up to a large black gate, you can see a long driveway with a very big house on the other side.
There was a little intercom on the side of the gate so I rolled down my window and pressed the button.
"Hello?" I heard my mom say out of breath. I rolled my eyes at my mother knowing full well she wouldn't be able to see me.
"It's your daughter, the one you don't seem to notice, or care about." I said dryly.
"Oh." was all she said and seconds later I heard a buzzing noise followed my the gate slowly opening.
The cab moved forward towards the incredibly large house then stopped beside the sidewalk that led toward the door. The house had a cream coloured exterior, and the door was bright red. There were beautiful lilies following the path toward the door. I rolled my eyes inwardly. He chose those flowers on purpose, considering my mother's name is Lily.
"Here you are." said the cab driver.
"Oh yea thanks." I paid the cab driver and got out.
Once again he got out and helped me with my bags I grabbed them from him and thanked him once again.
I walked up to the large door and opened to door.
"I'm here!" I said tiredly.
"Ok." My mother said with a grumpy tone. I rolled my eyes and looked around a little bit.
The house was surprisingly warm. The walls were a cream colour but there was a feature wall in the living room which was a bright yellow, on the feature wall held a mount for the gigantic flat screen TV. By the looks of it, the TV was probably 80" maybe more I'm not quite sure.
I walked over to the kitchen leaving my bags at the door. I grazed my hand along the beautiful granite top counters and stared at the oak cupboards.
