I looked down at my schedule. I had Biology, Math, English and gym. Apparently I have to do all the harder classes this semester because I wasn't here last year to pick out my classes for this semester and next semester.

I woke up hours ago, and dressed in a over sized sweater and skinny jeans with some random shoes I threw on.

I put my hair up into a pony tail and put some mascara on and I was set.

I walked downstairs into the kitchen where it was surprisingly quiet; and searched for a bowl in the cupboards, once I found that, I found cereal and poured it into the bowl.

My mother and her 'boyfriend' we're still sleeping so I just left and walked to where Jason directed me to, and he was right I walked about three blocks and the school was on my right.

I should be excited but I'm not. I'm nervous. I'm afraid about what people will think of me.

I walked up to the front entrance and walked into the school, and it was HUGE. I have no idea how I'm getting around this place.

The guidance office was right there as soon as I entered, so I walked in the office looking for help with my classes.

The guidance counsellor was busy talking to some guy so I waited patiently.

"Just hold on Nolan, sit down I'll get back to you after." The middle aged women glared at him.

He must have done something bad.

The guy which I'm assuming is Nolan rolled his eyes and sat down in the seat the guidance counsellor pointed to off the left of her.

"Hi." The guidance counsellor smiled.

"Hi, I'm new here, and I have no clue how to get to all my classes. It's like a maze in here."

She smiled at me then glanced at Nolan who wasn't paying any attention to her.

"Oh hi, you must be Scarlett welcome to Ridgemount high." she said enthusiastically.

"Thank you." I replied politely.

"Well I have the perfect solution for you and me." she said proudly. "Nolan will take you, around the school and give you a tour, then he'll help you get to your classes until you know where you're going."

Nolan looked up and gave the counsellor a dirty look. His eyes shifted to me and he raked my body up and down with is eyes in what look to be.... disgust?

"Are you kidding me? No! She's looks like a fucking rat. I can't have her by my side people will talk." he said in rage.

I felt a pang of hurt in my chest from his insult. Considering what I've been through that shouldn't have hurt my feelings so much. I think it's the fact that he insulted me and he doesn't even know who I am. Imagine what other people will think of me.

"Watch your mouth Nolan! Apologized to Scarlett immediately." The counsellor shouted.

"Sorry." he grumbled unsympathetically. "But I'm still not going around school with her."

"Yes you are, it's either you help her or I call your parents and tell them you are suspended for three days for what you did and for insulting another student." she growled.

"No!" Nolan said in fear. I twisted my face in confusion, is he afraid of his parents? I just shrugged the thought off.

Nolan faked a cough and looked over at the counsellor again. "I'll show her around." he said under his breath.

"Good."

The guidance counsellor looked over at me sympathetically and smiled a bit. "I'm sorry, this is not the ideal way to be welcomed into Ridgemount."
