"Babe, you've stolen my blanket."
"'S cold..." Ben groaned as he slowly woke up.
"Well now I don't have a blanket so think about how cold I am." Joe had woken up about 10 minutes ago shivering and realized Ben had taken his fuzzy, warm blanket. He had been trying to get it back from the blond but Ben had a death grip on it. So Joe decided to wake the Brit up.
"Ugh, fine." Ben realized the blanket and just when Joe went to take it back from him, Ben grabbed Joe and pulled him closer. "Happy now? We are both warm."
"Yes, it is warm but I'm still mad that you took my blanket."
"I was asleep, I didn't know. Now let's go back to sleep."
"Hate to break it to you but it's already time to get up." Ben sighed and turned to look at the clock on Joe's beside table.
"Fuck...I wanted to sleep longer."
"Fine, I'll let you sleep longer and I'll go make breakfast. Knowing Mom, she's probably not up yet, either." Joe pulled away from Ben, causing the blond to whine again. Joe told him to suck it up and got out of bed.
Joe found his hoodie that he must have shed in the night, on the floor. That would be warmer.
It was already New Year's Eve, another year gone by quickly. Joe had spent most of the beginning of this year alone and sad but at least it wasn't going to end like it began. He had friends again and a loving boyfriend. Ben's year might have ended sad with the loss of his mother but next year would be filled with happiness.
Ben's birthday is 2 days away now and Joe had been trying to find him the most perfect gift. He still hadn't shown Ben what was in the small box Angela gave him. Ben had forgotten about it and Joe figured he'd save it till Ben's birthday.
Joe entered the kitchen and opened the fridge. What could he make? He searched around until he found cinnamon rolls to make. That would be a great breakfast for this great morning.
The snow was still falling outside, still looking like a winter wonderland. It reminded the redhead of Narnia.
The teen began to think about the new year again. They would be graduating and going out into the real world. Joe would be lying if he said he wasn't terrified. He was absolutely frightened. Who isn't though? Everyone is scared when they graduate. It's life.
Joe was looking forward to college though. Ben applied for the same acting school as him so they could be together. They would get a nice apartment and just live happily together. The redhead's heart even seemed to flutter when he thought about how he would be married to that sleeping beauty upstairs, that he called his boyfriend, one day.
"Morning..." John mumbled as he dragged himself into the kitchen, "What are you making?"
"Cinnamon rolls but they are off limits to you."
"Haha...very funny." John sat at the kitchen table and rested his head on the wood.
Another pair of footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs and into the kitchen. There stood the tall blond himself, wrapped up in a blanket like a burrito.
"Morning, Princess." Joe joked, get a huff from the blond.
"Morning. Morning, John." John didn't even look up, just lifted his hand and waved in response.
Ben took a seat with the younger boy at the table and rested his head in hand. He was exhausted. He hoped he wouldn't fall asleep before the ball drops later tonight.
Joe finished separating all the rolls and finally placed them in the oven.
"And now they bake." Joe joined his boyfriend and brother at the table as he waited.
