Joaquin jolted up from his sleep, breathless.

Wandering his eyes around, the first thing he sees is his mother beside him leaning against the headboard.

"Having a nightmare?" Leni puts down the book she's reading on the bedside table.

The boy was left staring at her, trying to figure out if it was just a dream.

"Huy, are you oka--"

Leni couldn't finish her words when Joaquin launched himself at her and suddenly let out a sob.

Then the door creaked revealing Tricia with a pillow under her armpit, yawning.

"Oh, why is the baby boy crying?" Tricia does baby talk to his brother, teasing him.

"Patricia." Leni glared at her second daughter which the other ignored and settled herself next to Joaquin.

"Don't cry na baby. I'll buy you an ice cream tomorrow." Tricia cooed, soothing his arm.

"Trish, pababalikin kita sa kwarto mo." Leni warned causing the doctor to giggle and pursed her lips.

Once Joaquin calmed down, he pulled away from his mother and the latter wiped his tears using her thumbs.

"It's okay, anak. Panaginip lang yun." Leni gave an comforting smile.

"Hoy ano napanaginipan mo?" Tricia slapped his shoulder while bobbing her head underneath their mother's arm. She's not worried actually, she's intrigued.

Joaquin scoffed. "You died."

"Oh, what's the reason?" the doctor asked, eyebrows raised.

"Kinain ka ng dinosaur," he replied nonchalantly as he tuck himself back into the duvet. "Sayang nga akala ko totoo na--"

A flying pillow went straight to his face.

"Aray!" he complained while rubbing his face.

"Sana di ka na nagising." the girl spat back.

"Oy, oy, matulog na kayo." Leni rebuked their banters.

When the boy saw that Leni was busy fixing her stuff, Joaquin pushed Tricia with a little force causing her to fall on the floor just before she could go under the blanket.

"Oh, anong nangyari?" Leni snapped her head at the two.

Tricia was about to speak but Joaquin interrupted with a triumphal grin.

"Kahit kailan talaga ang clumsy mo ate, hihiga na lang eh." he even offered his hand to pretend he's not the one behind it.

The girl did not say anything 'cause she knows one more complaint she'll be evicted in the room--which she doesn't want because her den's air conditioner is broken.

She accepted the lending hand but of course, she will not end the night without having revenge.

Grabbing it then squeezed painfully making Joaquin twitch in silence.

He doesn't want to be evicted as well.

When Tricia spotted Leni was about to turn around, she let go of his hand and squinted her eyes at him. The latter shakes it off to somehow reduce the ache while giving his sister a glare.
