"Ate?"
For quite some time now, Joaquin's staring Aika down wondering what seems to be wrong with her features.
From washing the dishes she tilted her head to see her brother, askance on her face.
"I think sobra na yung page-exercise mo." Joaquin did look at her whole body again.
The glass accidentally slipped from her hands in panic.
Please, not now.
Di ko pa kaya.
She hopes in her mind.
"Oh, are you okay?" Joaquin was about to stand, halfway through he stopped when she told him there was no harm.
She thought the tall boy diverted his attention out from her yet there they go again.
Sometimes she tends to be annoyed at how observant her brother is, even the smallest detail surely wouldn't pass his eyes.
There are instances that it helps but times as now she just prayed that he wasn't born like that.
"What about me?" she tried to be nonchalant as possible.
"You're getting thinner and paler." he averted his gaze on his phone.
Pausing in the meantime thinking of what she can reply without a hint of lying--she's not expertise though.
"Sexy tawag dyan ano ka ba." she joke it around instead.
"Sexy my ass." he scoffed. "Exercise moderately, ate. I'd rather see you chubby than looking like you weren't being fed."
Finishing her chore, she turned around and shake off the excess water on her brother's face.
"Ay ano ba ate? Yung phone ko," he complained while wiping the drops on the screen using the hem of his shirt.
"Ang dami mong ebas." now palming his face which the other swat it away.
"Mama si ate nga!" Joaquin shouted to be able for Leni to hear him.
"Wala tulog sa taas." she stuck her tongue out.
Before Joaquin could even grab her wrist she quickly run upstairs. Getting a headlock is not on her list today.
Making sure her brother wasn't following, she punched her left thigh as if it will lessen the pain.
In all honesty, she just masked the ache with a smile, and rushing up without a limp was a great effort for her.
Biting it down she then went to rest her leg in her room.

"Aiks it's your birthday na next week, invite your friends and Ethan as well, matagal-tagal na rin namin sya di nakikita. Maghahanda ako." Leni open up the topic while having their dinner.
"Haven't seen your boyfriend yet, ate." Joaquin butted in.
"Tayo-tayo na lang ayoko masyado maraming tao eh. And about Ethan, I'll try to ask him medyo busy kasi sa firm ngayon may malaking case silang hawak."
