Reminiscing on what my best friend said, it's not like I won't forgive her but I can't forget the pain she has caused me, I can never forget how my childhood was traumatized cos of her.
It's totally different from my own situation, totally. Ammie is always right when it comes to matters like this; I can't even trust my own mother.
"Zoe, Zoe"
"Yes?" I answered sluggishly.
"What are you thinking about?" She asked curiously.
I stood up from where I was sitting to sit directly in front of her. "Amanda, you said something about forgiving my mom, cos I'll need forgiveness at a particular point. What point are you talking about exactly?"
"Babe" she held my hands. " See you want to start a new phase with a man you claim to love. You'll have to tell him about your past and as my best friend of over eighteen years I know you won't tell him. So if he finds out you'll have to beg for his forgiveness but how will you feel if he refuses to forgive you the same way you are refusing to forgive the woman that brought you into this world?" She kept her eyes and hands on me.
"But my case is different babe, I didn't have a choice. I had to do what I did for survival babe" I said with tears in my eyes.
"Shhhhhh, listen your mother too had to do whatever she did cos of survival. We all made wrong choices at one point in our life, Zoe Iremide Osifo forgive your mom so you won't look for forgiveness when you need it"
"Ok I'll forgive her but she'll leave my house for now, I can't imagine meeting her the way I met her the last time" I said facing the other side.
"Whatever, just forgive her anyways as you no gree make we celebrate for your house, jollof rice don ready se you go chop?"
"Why I no go chop?" I hissed
"Eda anyways go serve yourself o?" I didn't even wait for her to finish what she was saying before I rushed to to the kitchen and served my food.
I finished serving my food and still Ammie was in the sitting room, that's very strange cos normal her will be in the kitchen telling me the right quantity to put.
I took my food to the dining to eat, but I noticed something weird. Immediately I entered the sitting room cos it leads to the dining Ammie dropped my phone hurriedly and started smiling sheepishly at me. I just shrugged it off and sat down to eat my food.
"Ammie o, Biko pass me my phone" I said with food in my mouth.
"Fine girl go dey chop like pig anyways I'll bring it for you cos you add please ni o" she walked towards me, gave me my phone and still stole my food. This girl is a certified onye Ohio (thief).
"Madam why you no pour your own food na must you steal onye Ohio (thief)"
"Iya oko e onye Ohio" she said and hissed (your mother in-law is the thief)
"My mother in-law cannot be a thief especially if it's Lanre I'm getting married to" I said smiling like a goat on heat.
"Arrrghhh my dear you're done for" my best friend said while she laughed at me.
She sat on the dining with her food still shaking her head as if to say she's sorry for me.
"Awon ebi daddy e lo ma wa done for, can you imagine this omugo o (it's your daddy's family that'll be done for can you imagine this fool)
"Ahn ahn be calming down o even if my daddy's family is not or are not useful no insult them o" she said jokingly.
"Ok, but the rice sweet die I fit dey chop am everyday but no na once in a while your head dey correct"
"Baby you know I'll move mountains for you, if it's to sacrifice my uterus for you I'll do it. So it hurts me when you say words like this, it breaks my precious sapphire heart" she said while wiping fake tears from her eyes.
When I say my best friend is a dramatic witch, I wasn't joking.
"Awwwwwww so sweet" I said in a sarcastic tone.

"Mom see I forgive you ok but I need space for now so with all due respect, leave my house for now" I said not looking at my mum's face.
Yh yh I'm home and my mum is begging for forgiveness, and I've told her more than a million times that I've forgiven her and i just need space.
"Iremide, o de jor see if you've truly forgiven me ehn don't chase me away from your house Jor okomi (please my dear)"
"Mum I need my privacy abi is that too much to ask, if you wan knack you go get free space se you get but se you see about the forgiveness, from the depth of my heart I forgive you". I said
"Ok, but you'll call me sebi" she asked.
"Yes every single day mum, I'll call you." I said reassuredly.
"Thank you my love, for giving me another chance thank you".
"You're welcome,send your account number to me I'll send you 100k for your upkeep at least till I come see you again" I said smiling at her. She's lucky I listen to my best friend if not.....
"Arrrghhh okomi(my darling), ajoke, aduke, ayomi (my happiness), ose gan ni, ko ni tan nibe o okomi oke oke bahyii lowo e ama lo o.( Thank you very much, it won't finish where you picked it from, my dear your hand will keep moving higher and higher)."
"Amen maami. I'll be upstairs when you're done packing call me" I said as I ran upstairs.
I saw three missed calls on my phone and it's from my Adonis. I called him back immediately I saw it
"Hey baby,how are you you got me worried" was the first thing he said.
"I'm good and I'm sorry, I was sorting out some issues and my phone was upstairs".
"It's fine I just wanted to hear my angel's voice, plus I miss you" you need to see blush on my black face.
"I miss you too"
"Babe I gotta go I'll call you later ok"
"Bye" I said and he hung up.
