The Halsteads

𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐧'𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝

"Happy birthday Finny!" Kolly happily said, as she peeked over the little boy's crib. Yeah, it was really early in the morning, but Kolly was super excited to celebrate her brothers first birthday.

Soon enough, their parents entered into Finn's room. "There's our birthday boy" Hailey said, as she picked him up. "We've got to get you ready for your party, bud" she told the boy.

While Hailey dressed Finn, Kolly went off and got herself ready, as she did everyday. After everyone was dressed, they started to put up the final party decorations. Finn's party was going to be held inside the Halstead household. Unlike Kolly, Finn was born in December, so it is significantly colder outside for his birthday.

They had pictures from each month of Finn's life so far, all strung together and hung above where his high chair was located.

Before the party guests would arrive, Hailey went up to the master bedroom, and put on something a bit baggier, to hide the ever evident baby bump, which showcased the newest Halstead child. This time, though, Jay and Hailey were doing it differently. With Finn and Kolly's pregnancies, they told everyone they were expecting. For baby number three, Jay and Hailey had decided to keep the pregnancy a secret from everyone, minus Kolly and Finn, though Finn didn't quite understand it all just yet.

A few hours later, everyone began to arrive to Jay and Hailey's house for Finn's birthday party. Kolly happily greeted them all as they entered the house, giving each of them a hug and her signature 'Kolly smile'.

Presents on top of presents were placed onto the table, as everyone mingled and spoke with one another. They talked about everything anyone could think of. From life in general all the way to how Kolly was continuing to recover from the incident.

All of the kids present at the party, including Finn and Kolly, all played with one another. There were plenty of toys to go around, luckily enough.

Kolly had been standing Finn up trying to coerce him into taking steps. Finn hadn't taken his official first steps yet, but he was close.

That day, however, changed everything. While Kolly was standing him up, she grabbed his pacifier and held it out. "Come here, Finny! Come get your paci!" The six year old cheered, as Jay pulled out his phone, just in case.

Sure enough, the paci taunt worked. Finn gave his big sister a smile, as he slowly, and very wobbly, took his first steps towards her. In total, Finn took five entire steps, before losing his balance, and plopping down onto his bottom. Everyone who was present cheered for Finn, as Kolly rewarded him with his pacifier.

"I got it on video!" Jay said, proudly. "Oh thank God" Hailey laughed.

Presents were opened, cake and cookies were devoured, and soon enough, everyone had finally left the house.

It was past Finn's bedtime, as Hailey scooped the boy up into her arms, and allowed Jay and Kolly to tell him goodnight. "Kolly girl, you go get ready for bed too, and mommy and I will tuck you in." Jay told his daughter, as Kolly immediately did as she was instructed to do.

Hailey took Finn off to his bedroom, and changed his diaper, and put him into his pajamas. She then planted a kiss on Finn's cheek, and laid him down in his crib.

"Happy birthday, Finny boy. We love you so much" Hailey said, before giving him another kiss, and doing the remainder of the boy's nighttime routine. After that, she made her way out of Finn's room, and met up with Jay. They went and told Kolly goodnight, and that they loved her, before completing her nighttime routine.

Now that both Halstead children were in bed, Hailey and Jay quietly finished up with the cleaning from Finn's birthday party, before the two of them eventually resorted back to their bedroom, to go to bed, and do it all again the next day, well, minus the birthday and the party, that is.
