Tony and Stephen sat in a comfortable silence in the living room, both of the males distracted by their own devices. The billionaire was scrolling his Twitter feed and the sorcerer was looking through his gallery. It was full of a bunch of photos of the two from when they went on vacation for their anniversary a few weeks ago.

Well, it WAS silent until Tony gasped, catching Stephen's attention. He furrowed his brow as he scooted closer to his husband, peeking over his shoulder to his phone. Tony, suddenly aware of the ex doctor's presence, quickly pulled away from him,

"What? What is it, Tones?" Stephen asked as he tried to get another peek at the man's phone but to no avail. Tony looked up at him and chuckled softly,

"It was nothing, Steph." He tried to shrug it off, "I just saw a video that shocked me." The sorcerer was about to question what kind of video until he was interrupted, "A good video! I-It was funny and surprised me, heh." Stephen squinted his eyes at him, biting his lip and nodding his head not believing a word,

"Oh really? Let me see it then." Stephen tried to grab Tony's phone but he pulled away, trying to scroll up in his Twitter feed before the other man was able to see what he was actually looking at. Stephen finally successfully grabbed the phone and was met with a photo that he wasn't expecting to see. He faked a laugh and smiled,

"Pff Oh my god, Tones! This is so dumb!" He laughed as he showed the billionaire the phone and wiped the grin off of his face. The thing that Tony scrolled onto was a rant paragraph that was obviously such a hot take that I'm not even going to mention what it said. Stephen sighed and looked at Tony right in the eyes, holding his phone away from the other so he couldn't snatch it back, "I know for a fact that this wasn't what you saw, Anthony." Tony gulped as he heard the ex doctor say his full first name.

The shorter man awkwardly looked away from Stephen and began fidgeting with his thumbs, bringing up his right hand and chewing on the nail anxiously. He kept trying to distract himself until he felt a trembling hand reach for his chin and gently move his head up to meet Stephen's stormy green eyes with his own brown ones. They were both quiet for a moment until Tony's eyes welled up with tears,

"I-It shouldn't affect me this much." He said shakily as he hesitantly reached for his phone again to which Stephen allowed him to grab it. Tony sniffled as he used his thumb and scrolled down his feed once more. He suddenly stopped and took a deep breath before showing Stephen. It was a post from someone's blog that went viral but for the wrong reasons.

Stephen glanced back at Tony who was watching the sorcerer's reaction to the article, "..Just keep reading..please." He said quietly. Stephen's eyes darted back to the article as he quickly scanned over the article,

" 'Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist Tony Stark has been found to be in a secret relationship with no one other than the ex famous doctor known as Stephen Strange-' " His brows furrowed as he continued to read over and saw the subtly homophobic comments and side jabs inside the article itself, " 'This might be a total destruction of the playboy's reputation'?!" Stephen couldn't believe his eyes and turned off Tony's phone and set it down next to them,

"I know I shouldn't expect EVERYONE to like me who I am but-" Stephen shushed him and pulled him close; the cloak that was once around the sorcerer's back now settled on Tony's shoulders. It held him close and pushed him into Stephen's chest as he sobbed quietly. Stephen whispered gentle nothings into his husband's ear and ran his fingers through his hair,

"It's okay, Tones." Stephen spoke softly as he held Tony close, "This is how people on the internet are. They say things that they are too scared to say behind a screen because they know it's bullshit." he hummed as he rubbed the smaller man's shoulders lovingly, "You have me and the rest of the Avengers. They won't let anything bad happen to you and you know DAMN well I wouldn't let anyone put a single finger on you." He continued his protective rant. He then looked down at Tony just to notice that he had fallen asleep on his chest, snuggled into the cloak of levitation and holding onto Stephen's shirt.

The sorcerer chuckled quietly as he slowly laid down, trying not to wake up his husband in the process. The billionaire woke up for a second just to be shushed back to sleep by Stephen. The cloak then draped itself on the two men, becoming somewhat of a blanket and keeping them very warm. Stephen squeezed Tony as he wrapped his arms around him, pressing a gentle kiss to his head,

"Goodnight, Tones." He kissed his head once more before laying his own head down and falling into a deep and comfortable slumber. Nothing could ruin how comfortable the two men were with each other. Tony in Stephen's arms and Stephen protectively wrapped around his husband.
