(A/N: If Steve ended up going with Nancy to research Victor, and not Robin. Also, Nancy and Steve are already dating in this reality.)

Nancy's Point of View

Listen, being slick isn't exactly my specialty. This is why when I make and attempt at sliding away to my station wagon, while my boyfriend and the rest of the group make their way to his car, I am caught onto.

"Whoa, whoa wait, Nance..." Steve grabs lightly onto my arm, "Nancy where ware you going?"

"I'm going to go... grab something from home," I smile up at my boyfriend. Now I know damn well he probably doesn't believe a word coming from my mouth, because he knows me more than anyone; he also has that look on his face. Like his bullshit detector is going off.

"My bullshit detector is going off Nancy." Steve looks down to me, and our eyes lock. I take a moment to study his appearance today, which is flawless per usual. His hair is blowing lightly in the breeze, and the mid day sun is perfectly accentuating his skin and his eyes. I never cared for brown eyes, until I met Steve. Now I think his honey brown eyes are the most glorious shade that have ever blessed genetics, Mother Nature obviously agrees with me based on how her sun is highlighting them during this moment.

"Fine..." I sigh, and look up to meet his eyes again, "I'm going to the library, I want the keys to the basement files to look through something. I just don't want to bother you guys with it because it's a real shot in the dark."

"I don't care, Nancy." Steve grabs ahold of my hands, "Let me come with you. You need someone with you, you can't be running around with this Vecna creep on the loose." Steve's eyes are packed full of concern, and love. One of the things that I love most about him, is the fact that he would drop anything to be there for me, and for the people he loves. I've never had someone care for me this deeply or love me this much, not even my parents; it's refreshing to have him, to have someone that does. I care for him just as deeply, and if not more. Steve is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and despite the beautiful mid day sun lighting up the greenery and flowers at the trailer park, all I can look at is him.

"Why don't I stick with Nance?" Robin approaches Steve, looking between the two of us.

I've never really met or spent any time with Robin, but I don't mind that she and Steve are friends. I know how Steve feels about me, and I know he loves me just as much as I love him. No other girl could ever change that, and even he has said so. I would be open to having her join me, but honestly I'd rather spend some one on one time with my boyfriend before all of this goes to shit. Which I know it will.

"She's my girlfriend Robin, why would you be the one to go with her over me?" Steve flashes Robin a look that reads "are you dumb" and she puts her hands up into the air as if she were surrendering.

"Next time Robin," I flash her a friendly smile, which I hope tells her that I'd like to become better friends with her. Baby steps.

"No, no next time Robin," Steve mocks me playfully, "I protect Nance, I go with Nance, always." Steve puts a heavy emphasis on the word "always" as he grabs tight onto my hand, and we leave to walk towards my station wagon.

"Robin drives!" He shouts back at the group, tossing her the keys, "And no, I don't care that you don't have a license."

I smile, tightening my grip on Steve's hand as we walk towards my car.

"I can't believe you thought I'd ever let you go out on your own, under these circumstances." Steve strokes the top of my hand with his thumb, "I'd go absolutely insane with worry."

"I don't mind you coming with me. I never do," I stand up on my toes and plant a soft loving kiss onto his lips, "because I love you."

The ride to the car didn't consist of too much, just Steve driving absolutely chaotically because his favorite song "Take On Me" by a-ha was playing. Oh, and as well as my occasional freak outs because I was worried we would die at our own hands via car crash, before we could even research Victor Creel and if his family was Vecna's first victim. The car ride also consisted of lots of singing, that Steve claimed to hate, which I know is a lie because my voice is of the angels. I haven't felt any stress around him, only ease. It's funny how he is able to do that, to calm me with simply his presence, or his words.
